Italian Village Pizza, Pittsburgh PA

I used to love to go to the old location when the lights were dimmer and they had nice italian music on. Now the lights are too bright and the music is bad and loud and the tvs are on all the time. They should have left the vibe like it was at the old place! Why mess with perfection. I would rather go to Eat n Park where you can hear yourself talk and the lighting is lower.

Very pleasant service, nice new space, same completely respectable Italian food with an open kitchen.but I got charged full pint price for this very small glass of regular old Sam Adam's lager. Pictures to show that it holds about the same volume of liquid as their slim water glasses. We also got regular tulip glasses of more high proof beers before this so I was a bit ticked off by this weird tactic. I was excited to see an extended draft list at this new location but I can get full pints at the giant eagle bar just a few steps away so.it's a bummer, Italian Village

I'm mixed - their food is fantastic but the speed and service is super hit and miss. We consistently have to wait between 30 minutes to an hour just for one pizza to-go - this most recent visit, after an hour of waiting we received a totally room temperature pizza.

This is their new location at the Waterworks mall. I order an NYC cut pizza with extra cheese, pepperoni, and sausage, Margarita from the bar, and pittsburgh steak salad. The pizza was not a true NYC cut. I did not get extra cheese. They didn't have salt for the Margarita. The salad barely had cheese and no fries per the menu. After I told the older male waiter that the cook left the fries off the salad, he brought me 6-8 broken old fries on a separate plate. No straws or extra napkins. Italian Village Pizza; yall ask for a bigger, better, busier location at the Waterworks Mall, now yall gotta do better because today, I wasn't impressed and yall could have stayed where yall were.

Food went down hill from old place I loved hoagie at old place new place horrible why did you change something that wasn't broke

Just wanted a new place for the first time tonight pretty nice inside there I got charged $10 for two pieces of pizza and a drink that I never got because they don't have iced tea anymore they took their font and drink out for iced tea after 20 years they're I guess they want you to pay for the new place not me cuz I told him I'll never I'll never be back again

I like their pizza but I think it's bizarre to close earlier on Saturday than any other day of the week.

Very good subs here, the pizza is ok, nice staff. It is a Pepsi restaurant which is a strike against them in my mind

The pizza is delicious, but for 4 dollars for a specialty slice, I expect to atleast have some of the speciality topping I paid for. Bbq chicken pizza is supposed to have chicken on it, I would've asked for a bbq cheese pizza if that's what I wanted.

I had a taste for a slice of pizza after catching a movie and was disappointed.

Ordered a slice of the veggie pizza and it came back with veggies on top of a cheese pizza, which I have never experienced. I am use to having the veggies added to the cheese and cooked with it. Then I also got their wing special and wanted a spicy and sweet sauce and the waitress suggested the Honey Habanera sauce and when I got it, it was mostly drenched in Habanera sauce, with little to no honey.

I used to eat here twice a week and loved the pizza, pepperoni rolls and garlic knots. The quality of the food and service has degraded from 4.7 to a 2. Last 3 times we got it was horrible. The last large pie I purchased was so burnt we couldn’t enjoy and our guests thought it was pretty bad. Too bad as this place was a go too for wife and I.

Ordered a small white pizza for delivery and I made one request to make the crust well done.

The pizza that was delivered was completely undercooked and the crust not only was NOT well done it was so pale it had no color at all. So it didn't look very appetizing.

When I called and asked to talk to the manager and explained what happened instead of saying "sorry that we messed up", she was just extremely RUDE!

They did charge an additional $5 for delivery (that wasn't mentioned to me on the phone when I placed the order) and I did give the driver a good tip but did not enjoy the pizza.

It was not a pleasant experience.

I guess so much for customer service.

We took a group of my son's friends out for dinner at the Waterworks location after a birthday paintball event. We were going to order everything at the counter, but there was a waitress that was insistent that she served our tables. A drink order was missed because we were blamed for confusing the order (we didn't, we just asked what products were available.) There was no unsweet tea because another customer said it was "off" (why wouldn't you make more?).

We ordered bread knots, four pizzas, and a calzone. The knots, the first two pizzas, and the calzone came out after about 15 minutes but we had to ask about the other two pizzas after 30 minutes. We were told that the third pizza was in the oven and the order for the fourth was never placed (why would you not follow up?). 20 minutes later, the third pizza was available on the counter, but the waitress was busy socializing with other guests/friends. We got the pizza ourselves before it got cold. We also had to get the to go boxes since we were never checked up on again. The waitress made a remark to the table she was socializing at something to the effect "well you just can't please some people" referring to our party. I don't understand why this was said (or why would you complain to other tables about other guests)

This is unacceptable - the place wasn't even busy. I didn't bother raising up the issue with the staff because I expected to get the same indifferent response.

I have been a fan of Italian Village Pizza but with this terrible service, I really don't plan on going back. There are plenty of other restaurants out there that will gladly welcome my business.

Place is great! Food is really good. You get a lot for a good price and the service was 5 stars too. I feel fortunate that we chose this place to stop on a whim.

Standard pizza shop with prices that are pretty irresistible. I ordered pickup via UberEats, and they were offering 30% off (and Italian Village also has a Groupon offer for $20 worth of food for $10). So, I tried the cheese calzone and zeppole with chocolate sauce.

The cheese calzone was quite good. It was a bit bready, but still had tons of cheese to make up for that. It was warm when I received it and they make the food quickly. The portion size is great for the price of just $10.99, which doesn't include the discount. Nice little sprinkle of cheese on top and the calzone dough is not too soggy.

The zeppole themselves were great. The best food I can compare them to is a powdered sugar donut. They have a nice, sweet coating and perfect soft interior. I would have liked a bit more crunch to them, but they were still worth the price. Amazing serving size once again.

Although these two items were both tasty, I must add that sauces are not Italian Village Pizza's strength. The red sauce served with the calzone was on the acidic side, didn't have chopped tomatoes, and was not impressive in any way. The chocolate sauce served with the zeppole was terrible; it tasted like Hershey's chocolate syrup, definitely not homemade.

In either case, I just got a tasty calzone and darn good zeppole for $11.50. The portions are large, prices are great, and flavors are a bit above average. Just be aware of the sauces being subpar.

The food was delicious. Except the zucchini was hollow and all breading. Cut too thin, cooked away. Waitress was wonderful very friendly and patient. Also a long bearded ruff looking Gentleman paid our bill. We did not know until he left. So we paid it forward to the hard working person. THANK YOU RUFF LOOKING BEARDED MAN

I just left this DIRTY pizza shop after eating one of there "white pizza's" the mozzarella was So chewy I picked every bit of it off of the pizza and threw it in the garbage. Some A-hole that obviously either worked there or owned the place stated " he paid $300 a case for that mozzarella, I told him "he got robed". Every table in the place was extremely dirty when I walk in. Recommend you eat at another pizza shop.

I have been eating lunch at rhis store several times a week for over 10 yrs. They must have recently changed owners or all workers as i do not recognize anyone. I used to order a bowl of wedding sour and pepporoni roll. Last 3 times the soup was mostly broth no celery 4 meatballs and no pastimes. Tried 1 more time after telling that and it was worse. Last visit here

The service is excellent, the place is beautiful but the inner was cold, however the pizza is 100%, good relation quality, flavor and price
