J & W Automotive, Inc reviews
5I trust the team at J&W to keep me and my family safe on the road throughout the year. Great workmanship at a fair price.
Exemplary service! The team swiftly identified my engine shut down resulted from faulty wiring inside a knockoff/counterfeit taillight I purchased off Ebay. There was no costly transmission problem after all & they rewired the light and got me back on the road in one day! This was my initial visit and I was provided prompt, professional and courteous service. I felt like a member of their family and I highly recommend J & W Automotive.
Can't trust them. There is a noise on the right side of the car, in the front. Its obvious, you CAN'T NOT HEAR it. They said the car wouldn't start and it needed a starter. They said they road tested the car, (the same car that wouldn't start), and hey didn't hear any noise. There was never a problem starting the car but, we gave authorization to replace the starter. Asked them again if they heard the noise, they said there was no noise and they DID drive the car. After the repairs and before leaving the parking lot, the noise was as loud as ever. Makes you wonder. Did it really not start? Did it really need the starter? If they couldn't hear this noise, (a noise that is evident to everyone that sits in the car), how can I be sure they are qualified to condemn the starter? OR! Did they lie about DRIVING the car and say there is no noise?
ALSO, are they lying about the starter being bad?
Two days after picking up the car, and still hearing the noise, the car wouldn't start! Turns out the trans shift cable is broken and the trans is stuck in drive position. The shift cable is right next to the starter, what a coincidence huh? So, did it need the starter? Did they misdiagnose a non-existent no start issue and throw a starter in it, or did it legitimately not start and need a shift cable and they just couldn't figure it out? Did they break the shift cable while they were replacing the starter that was never a problem? Either way. THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY! And if you have a noise, be prepared to hear it after you spend a ton of money on repairs that might not be needed and create additional problems. Save yourself the trouble, money and frustration!
Been working on cars for 40 years. It has been very difficult finding a knowledgeable and trustworthy shop. J&W are fantastic. They are honest and upfront with no surprises. A true value and quality work.
