Jenkins Arboretum reviews
22Small but beautiful. Great place to walk, wooded and peaceful with lots of gorgeous flowers and other landscaping. Paved paths, some of them a bit steep but still an easy walk. My 2-year-old loved playing in the children's garden.
Amazing place. Great for kids and also for a brief escape into the woods. Well maintained and tended, wildlife is abound. Staff is very helpful and understanding (even when children ask questions). Highly recommended.
Jenkins is a very well maintained Arboretum with paved walkways that wander throughout the property. They have a nice variety of trees and all sorts of plants which are all identified clearly. It's a peaceful place to walk around and enjoy a nice day. They also sell a nice selection of plants for sale at reasonable prices.
This is our favorite local Arboretum, complete with walking trails, hiking trails (well marked and mapped) treehouses, and of coarse goats! We could wander around here for hours. Fun events throughout the year are bonuses. Well worth the membership!
Not much was blooming yet as we were there in early spring but enjoyed the nice short walk which can be somewhat steep at times
Great place! Wear pants or use bug spray! Very big hill to climb back up, but worth the effort!
Beautiful morning walk through well maintained trails with three young children and the company of squirrels, birds, and serenity
Lovely, tall trees, lots of native plants, pond, plants for sale, small children's garden, book store, singing insects and smooth paved paths.
An open tree garden with all native trees and shrubs labeled and classified. I learned what plants are I have seen my whole life. Fun for a quick self guided walk.
A beautiful garden, the kind of place you can go to appreciate the beauty of native plants and local forests.
A hidden gem in Mainline PA, it gives different scenery in four seasons. And I love them all. Highly recommend it to everyone for its Spring blooming flowers, including hundreds of azaleas and rhododendrons.
Fantastic quiet retreat. Beautifully maintained, loved the new hidden children's area. Free addmission is much appreciated! Hidden gem for sure! Happy for more people to enjoy it, but please respect the hard work and delicate natural areas, stay on the paths!
I am not too into trees and stuff like that, but we had to go here for a field trip in my 102 Bio class at Eastern University and i think it was one of the better field trips we went on and the nicest outdoor trip we had taken. Sure.it sucked having to classify trees, but the hilly acidic soil is great for a wide variety of trees to grow on the piedmont area where this place resides.
One of my favorite places around. And I've been there when azalias were blooming. It was astounishing!
Jenkins Arboretum is beautiful and full of a large variety of azaleas, rhododendrons, and many others. During peak bloom time in mid to late spring, the area is full of beautiful blooms in white, pink, red, lavender, and yellow flowers. There are trails to walk on and there's even a pond at the bottom of the hill. The best part is, it's free to visitors and open year round from dawn to dusk.
Pretty walks through extensive Rhododendron and Azalea Gardens in a natural setting, with Oaks, tulip trees, and various native ground covers. Many of the paths are quite hilly, but are well-surfaced.
Beautifully kept. I love the way all the plants and trees are tagged with the common name and the scientific name.
Next week the woods will be ablaze, the azaleas will be in bloom. Some early varietals were out, enough to give a taste of spring.
I went to the plant sale and found everyone helpful and friendly! The prices were reasonable and I will probably go back again tomorrow for a few more things. The other great part is they take credit cards!
