Jim Thorpe River Adventures, Lehighton PA

I recently went on a whitewater rafting trip with Jim Thorpe River Adventures and had an absolutely amazing time! The guides were top-notch, especially Grant, Jacki, and the older gentleman who stayed back with us slow boats. They were all incredibly accommodating and took the time to make sure we had a great experience, even though we had 5 small children with us.

The older gentleman, whose name I unfortunately forgot, was so patient and understanding with my kids. He took them out on his kayak a few times and zoomed them around the rafts. They had so much fun! He also made sure they were safe at all times, and gave us very detailed a specific instructions, which I really appreciated. I also peppered him with a few questions he said he hadn't gotten, he answered each so perfectly. He even explained the reasons why each of the 3 straps in the vest are tightened to different degrees. He also gave us a great tour of the river and pointed out all the interesting features.

Jacki was also an inspiration to me and my kids. She shared her story of how she coped with a catastrophic injury and still loves her life and her job. It was really heartwarming to see. She was also a lot of fun and made us all laugh. She handled an awkward question from a 6 yr old with grace, she was excellent.

Grant was exactly what I expected from a whitewater rafting guide: funny, fun, and exceedingly well-qualified. He made sure we were all safe and had a blast. He was on the middle of the pack, and I could see he was working extremely hard to help stuck boats. Not ours tho, we didn't get stuck ;)

I was really impressed with the whole crew at Jim Thorpe River Adventures. They were all so friendly, helpful, and dedicated to creating a perfect customer experience. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a whitewater rafting adventure.

Here are some specific things that the guides did that made me feel so welcome and appreciated:

They took the time to learn our names.
They made sure we were all safe, even though we had young children with us.
They made us laugh and had a great sense of humor.
They were patient and understanding, even when we were getting a little rowdy.
They went out of their way to help us have a fun time.
I also appreciated the company's commitment to safety. They have a strict safety protocol in place and all of the guides are highly trained. I felt very safe the entire time I was on the river.

I spent the 45 minutes driving home wondering who runs that place, and how they managed to build such a capable, public facing team. Everyone simply seemed so happy to be there, super genuine. Clearly the team is well treated.

Overall, I had an absolutely amazing time on my whitewater rafting trip with Jim Thorpe River Adventures. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a fun and safe adventure.

My husband and I took the Easy Whitewater Rafting trip on September 6th. It was our first time ever Whitewater Rafting and we had a fantastic time. Our 2 guides were amazing (Linda and Glen) (I believe,). I have some mobility issues with my Achilles and some surgery on my hip and they frequently asked if I was comfortable in the raft and assisting with getting in and safely. They also provided a stepladder to get in and out of the van comfortably. The weather was absolutely perfect and they were very knowledgeable about the area and kept everyone from getting themselves into dangerous sections of the river. Already trying to figure out another trip as soon as we possibly can.

Our first experience with WWR. Though our guides were nice and the rafting experience was great, the communication was pathetic.

Our slot was 12-3 and we ended going up to 4plus without a lunch break. Supposedly there is a lunch stop for this slot but turns out since the buses were late, we ended up rushing and no one bothered to tell us that there is NO LUNCH BREAK. Imagine being on the raft stuck with HUNGRY kids!

This operation runs like clockwork. Very confident and friendly instructors, bus drivers, front desk. Good equipment. On time. OK for young kids too.

From the moment that I called for information I knew that this company had a much better approach to taking care of clients are compared to the other company that I called. The person that I spoke with was friendly, and answered all of my questions. Once we arrived, the staff was very friendly. The guides that went with us down the river were super nice! We got stuck several times on the river, and our man Grant was there to help every time! At one point Monica had to jump into our raft to help us catch up with the rest of the group, thanks Monica! While the family struggled a bit with rowing the boat, our guides always happily jumped in to help, and made the experience so much better. Thank you everyone at Jim Thorpe!

Awesome experience.you will be rafting for around 3: 30-4 hours.the staff are very caring and friendly.it costs around $82 per person.the waiting time at the beginning is a bit too long.

We did the Class 1 and 2 rapids, and our rafting tour was excellent! The guides on the tour were fantastic and talented! The only negative is that our tour ended up starting 1.5 hours late.

First time doing the whitewater rafting.

It's a whole day trip.
The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. You must follow the instructions if you don't want to flip or get stuck on rock.

Good facility, well organized, easy flow to/from river. Good river guides - friendly. White water adventure is good for our 12 yr old boy. He liked it. Took a few dips to cool off in the flat water. Thanks! We had a great trip!

Did the easy water kayaking private tour with Pat and Tom as our guides. For a first time kayaker and white water rafter this was hands down the best! Pat and Tom were very informative and patient along our journey, and not to mention fun! The scenery was spectacular too. Definitely will be back!

We had an amazing time White water rafting! From start the finish it was was very well organized. I felt safe the entire time.
The guides are AMAZINGGGGG! They were smiling and laughing the entire day! You can tell they really enjoy doing this! I can’t wait to return! There are a few different choices in PA for water rafting but I PROMISE you should go with JIM THORPE RIVER ADVENTURES! We did the intro to white water which was amazing and had some thrills to it! I can’t wait to come back for the big time white water rafting! See ya next year!

Fun and beautiful except that they apparently allow smoking on the whitewater rafting trip and so we kept getting cigarette smoke blown in our faces while on the water.

The best Rafting experienced. We had fun and for a first timer we know we are very safe because our guides are very knowledgeable and very caring. We'll comeback for sure!
