Jim thorpe is a nice town. When I got lost the tall skinny kid with the receding hairline was great. Best staff member there by far.

Beautiful town, rude person working in front desk. I approached her asking politely what she knew about the train tickets because the ticket window was closed, she replied that the trips were on weekends, I told her, again, politely, that the website said they were open today to which she replied “I don’t care what the website says”. I don’t understand why people who doesn’t like to talk to other people work in a front desk. That ruins all the vibes.

We used to enjoy a visit on the way home after visiting children/grandchildren. We would stay overnight nearby and spend the next day in Jim Thorpe. We left early this time because there were so many people walking through the streets without masks. The "risk/reward" incentive was to leave. Instead this time, we had dinner in a town near our home where they have a "mask ordinance" and people mostly comply. The town is beautiful and the shops are all interesting and the train ride and trails a great way to spend a day. However, we won't be back for a year or two when this whole pandemic is over. Hopefully the "no maskers" will make up for us while we're gone.

Jim Thorpe is a wonderfully picturesque town. Came here with local friends to browse several small shops on an absolutely frigid December day. We want to return when the weather is more comfortable, and town more populated. The tourist attractions look very interesting.
