Jin Ding Restaurant reviews
20I can’t speak to the service or atmosphere because I ordered via DoorDash. Shrimp and walnuts in mayo sauce. Shrimp smelled bad. Just awful.
Editing my review to reflect the changes in the business. I have been a loyal customer for years, but things have just gone downhill with new staff. For example tonight my order was completely messed up and inedible, which I didn't realize until I got home and opened it. I called the restaurant to request a refund, but since I "took their food", they would not give me a refund unless I drove back and returned the food. Mind you, it is pouring rain with an active flood watch. Also, I heard them having to explain to the (new) chef how he messed up the order, so they knew they were in the wrong but still refused to give me the refund. I'm so disappointed and will now have to find a new restaurant to give my business to.
Outstanding authentic Chinese food at reasonable price. We just had their special Christmas menu. Can’t wait to come back!
Jin Ding is really good. The owner is now cooking here, and he’s atop Hong Kong chef. If you haven’t been here for a while, you should try their Christmas special. It’s really good and reasonably priced. But you better hurry because it ends by the end of the year. We had the Christmas special and we had stuff to take home.
This place doesn't deserve higher than 3 stars, I genuinely don't understand why this place has high reviews. I've never had such boring basic (American) Chinese food before. Everything is bland, lacks depth, and just plain. The general tso has nothing special or noteworthy. The lo mein has no flavor. The crab ragoons consists of a teaspoon of filling in an over fried stuffing. And the wonton soup was just okay. Everything is consumable with extra siracha, barely.
This place is only good for people who either have no taste buds or don't care. The price of the main entrees can't even justify the flavor. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Delicious soup and food. Tofu and chicken had a crispy coating and tender, juicy interior. Great and fast service.
Had a great time dining at Jin Ding. All of the food was tasty, service was great, and the seating was very comfortable. Would definitely come there again. The egg buns especially stood out.
Long wait. Food was unappetizing, unappealing and bland. I ordered Singapore noodles. It had no curry, very few vegetables and tasted like old cooking oil.
Amazing food. Not typical Americanized Chinese food you get from local restaurants. Highly recommended.
Very nice restaurant. Very clean, nice ambience. Staff provide great service. Food was very good. Soup dumplings were great!
This is really truly my favorite Chinese food restaurant of my life. I live 45 mins away and make the drive every month or so. There are basically 2 guy waiters there that are always there and they are such a pleasure. Fast service, delicious food, 100/10!
Service was fast and attentive, food was amazing and so well balanced. Would absolutely recommend.
Consistently good food. Best of all is the service. Serves work as a team to get the job done. Quiet on the weekdays. Also a good takeout spot.
Stopped by Jin Ding for some dim sum and it did not disappoint! The restaurant overall is very clean and nice! Our server was so attentive and friendly! We were the first table there right when they opened so the service time was also fairly quick!
The prices were on the higher side than most places I have visited serving dim sum but they offered the same selection if not with a few varieties. We ordered scallion pancakes, custard buns, pork buns, soup dumplings, shrimp and bbq rice rolls, chives dumpling, their special dumpling and a few more dishes. Our total came out to about $100 + tip. My favorite was the bbq rice roll. The meat was tender and nice small pieces of spare rib paired with the chewy rice roll was delicious! I did also like that the soup dumplings were smaller making it easy to pop and consume without burning your entire face.
I was slightly disappointed at the custard buns though. I am not sure if they're premade and just heated but only one of the 3 looked the way it was supposed to. The other 2, looked so deformed, could not tell that it was supposed to look like a pig. I am sure most people probably order this with the intent of it looking cute, so they should make sure to provide the customers with that experience!
Absolutely the best meal I’ve had in months. All of the items were prepared perfectly, the seafood was so fresh and delicate. The vegetables were beautifully done with light sauces. Nothing tasted “processed” or loaded down with salt and sugar like some “Americanized” Asian restaurants tend to do. Our server was so nice! The first items were brought to us within moments of ordering. I love that they leave a large pitcher of cold water on your table so you can pour your own. The custard buns are adorable and delicious. Our server packed up our leftovers so nicely. The entire staff is just fantastic. The ambiance of the restaurant is quiet, cool and relaxed. I’ve seen some reviews complaining about the prices. But you’re paying for quality and presentation. It made for a lovely dining experience. Unfortunately, we live almost 3 hours away otherwise we would be here at least once a week!
Got nausea and vomiting after dinning here
Update: got serious ill and ended up in ER for food poisoning. I ordered fried softshell crab and dim sum items.
Delightfully quiet for a workday lunch. Understated decoration with a touch of elegance, the same elegance that runs in the manners of the waiters.
The salt and pepper pork chops was a bit hit with the whole group.
Lots of parking in the back, in addition to the little triangle visible from the intersection.
There’s a second floor to it. The back room alone is quite spacious and great for events.
Footnote: This five star review is not earned on account of authenticity of the food. The entrees are more American than Chinese. But the overall dining experience is so satisfying I cannot give anything other than a five star.
We had a wonderful meal at Jin Ding in Bryn Mawr last night. For anyone who may wonder, despite being in the same location, these are totally different owners than the former Yang Ming. In fact, one of the owners was our favorite server, Sunny, who worked for years at a different restaurant, and our reunion was wonderful! The place was immaculate and everything we ate was delicious. We had soup dumplings, scallion pancake, Peking duck, and gunpowder chicken. The menu is large and there are lots of choices. They have a reasonably priced bar as well as a Happy Hour that we can’t wait to try out. The service was wonderful and I’m so happy for this discovery. We’ll be back! If you haven’t tried it, I would encourage you to go!
This is a jem of an establishemnt. The food is excellent. Best soup dumplings and roast pork buns on the main line. They also do a big bowl seafood tom yum as a special that is exceptional. Their traditional chinese entrees are fantastic as well. The sevrice is wonderful and attentive. The atmosphere is high end lovely and white tableclothed. It is such a delight to have a place that is this lovely, welcoming and delicious. There is a private parking lot for the restaurant which makes it easy. Just go!
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food! Employees were wonderful! Large portions so we had dinner for the next day which was still really good!
