Problems show up every day, landlord not eager to fix them. The ceiling literally fell in and it took a week for it to even be cleaned up. Additional cracks in ceiling that get patched over and reappear after a month or two. Gas line broke, took 2 weeks to fix (could not use stove, oven, did not have hot water for shower). Incorrectly caulked bathtub. Back door not weatherized so it swelled up to a point of not being able to close. The air conditioning broke over the summer— was fixed in September after 3 months of asking and asking to get it fixed. The washer and dryer have been broken for 4 months, not sure when that’s ever going to get fixed. Currently the water is shut off, and there is not timeline on how soon it will be fixed. The expensive rent isn’t worth the problems you deal with day to day. Will NOT be renewing my lease, will NOT be recommending anyone ever stay here.

Excellent experience working and renting under the company. Rented my first apartment here. The staff is genuine, will work with you if you need and offer quality living at an affordable cost

Properties can be run down and I think they have like 2 maintenance guys for their 100some properties so you have to bug them to get things fixed.

I put 4 stars because they leave me the f alone unless I call them about something. The office staff is nice. They handle major issues in a reasonable amount of time. Pet Friendly

Horrible company. Threaten and lie to their tenants. Ignore maintenance requests and let their properties go to shambles, allowing people to live in molded and unsafe conditions. Allow their properties to become almost condemnable, truly, with no care for humanity or pets — any leaving creature.

Great company. We stayed in there fully renovated apartment with affordable price and you can also ask what location u want. They have a lot of apartments in different location. And land lord is always one call away if something happened. Thats the important thing! Great job!

369 S. Atlantic Ave has a history of bedbugs, German cockroaches, and black mold. I don't want anyone else to go through what we did, so please keep this in mind when considering any unit in this particular house.

I rented from JJ Land for 4 years between two different apartments while I lived in Pittsburgh and I can say from my experience they were the hands down best landlord I have ever had. They do a great job on upkeep and maintenence and run a professional operation like none other. Keep up the great work guys!

They had a mice problem and knew about it before we moved in. Needless to say there were TWO mice in my apartment you could hear them squeak and everything during the night and day. DISGUSTING! They sent a text saying someone was going to come out to fix the access points, but nobody ever did so we waited and emailed and called plenty of times for them to come handle the issue. They never did. ONE of the mice ended up dead on my floor when I came home from the store one evening. Beyond Disgusting! We waited two months for someone to come out and nobody did!

They take out a load some amount of money from your security deposit even if you cleaned the whole place very well before moving out. They just overall are trash in my opinion. We had our first lease with them and it was okay.then we did another with them, worst mistake for us! Never again will we be renting from JJLand Company. They are quick to get on the phone and act all kind at first then catch an attitude with you because you aren’t doing it their way or giving them the answers they want which do not concern them! Then, they turn around and threaten you with legal prosecution.how lovely!

They also have a bad habit of letting you know in a short amount of time when they will be viewing your apartment/unit. I have expressed to them before that this viewing of our past unit is really putting a toll on our work schedules and one of the employees had the nerve to tell me that they don’t understand why it puts a toll on our work schedules. I was working from home and a full time college student! Very rude people! Either way they continued to show our apartment/unit everyday during the winter in freezing temperatures at every possible time frame they could! Thanks.nothing like being outside during the cold walking around waiting.

Overall not the best company out here in Pittsburgh PA.

If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. JJ Land is the absolute WORST BUILDING MANAGEMENT COMPANY I have ever dealt with. Our apartment in Pittsburgh has no windows (that's right, it has no windows to the outdoors) so it relies 100% on air conditioning for clean/fresh air. The air conditioning has been broken for 3 weeks and we have called constantly and JJ Land keeps saying they will fix it but they do not show up. It is 90 degrees outside so staying in the apartment is now hazardous health-wise so we have moved to a hotel on our own dime. They have stated they will not reimburse us.

I wish I could say this is the only problem we have had with JJ Land but we have been in this apartment for 3 years and there has been many other problems including rodents as well as a broken front door to the building so you could not LEAVE the building through the front door which was a total fire hazard. We called everyday and it still took them a MONTH to fix.

If you are considering an apartment managed by JJ Land do not expect them to help you with anything. Broken things will stay broken and even their "emergency help" doesn't do anything. You are on your own: (

From remote apartment viewings to assisting with ending the apartment lease, JJ land has done an amazing job each step of the way. Quick and easy to correspond with and fixes any problems you may have relatively fast.

I've had my ups and downs with this rental company but for the most part they've always had my back. I've been a long time tenant of them and anytime something's broken they're quick to respond and fix it. Recently I had an issue with my neighbor threatening me and keeping me awake at all hours and they not only listened to me but took care of the issue. I'm thankful that they took my concerns and safety seriously.

I rented an apartment in Sharpsburg and every time it rained, water would leak through the windows and HVAC. Maintenance took the calls but never fixed the issue. I had to vacate the place in 3 months.

Lived in an apartment in Bellevue for 3 years. First year was great; almost no problems, and if there was a problem, it was addressed quickly. Started experiencing some plumbing issues in the 2nd year, but we weren't ready to move yet, so we signed for a 3rd. I don't know if they have been short staffed or if management changed, but this last year has been pretty bad. We had several plumbing issues. The on-call plumber did everything he could to not come to the building to fix the problems. There also wasn't always a follow-up. Sometimes after the plumber would come fix something, I would be left with a hole in the wall or ceiling for a week before I call again to make sure someone is coming to finish the job.

We lived in a ground floor apartment (so we were partially underground), and I understand that these things happen in a basement, but we had several ceiling leaks in several different places, leading to mold in the walls despite my consistent cleaning with vinegar and constant run of the dehumidifier. Also had several floods in the kitchen. The building we lived in was built in the 80s, so the plumbing is pretty old. We were told by one maintenance worker that they used 2 different metals in the plumbing which has lead to corrosion over time, poking holes in the pipes and causing the leaks. Instead of installing all new plumbing, they are replacing bits and pieces as issues are called in.

We had lots of bugs (nothing of concern except for a few carpenter ants every Spring) but it's a basement, so if bugs don't bother you, it shouldn't be an issue for you.

Washers and dryers are old in the building I was in. There are only 2 of each and one of the washers was broken since we moved in, so it was hard to get to do laundry. Recently, the other washer broke as well. It took them at least 2 weeks to order one and an additional 3 weeks to get it installed.

Heating system was inconsistent. We had a bitter cold winter a couple years ago and the heating system wouldn't kick on when it was supposed to. We would wake up some mornings with the thermostat at 56. We would have to fiddle with it until it would kick on properly. This past winter, the system worked fine, so it may have been the extreme temps. I recommend a space heater if you are on the ground floor like we were.

Now for some pros: they had off-street permit parking (but it wasn't enforced). They had nice windows. Utilities are cheap; we only paid for gas and electric for our unit. Rent was cheap until they started increasing. AC was consistent. Our oven that was there when we moved in broke and we got a brand new one that was pretty nice.

Despite all these issues, they were increasing the rent year-to-year. It was a good starter apartment, but I don't think it's the best for a long-term tenant.
