John Wright Restaurant reviews
13I came here for a rehearsal dinner for a friend’s wedding. The staff was nice and the view from the patio was pleasant. The food tasted great and was cooked well. You can look at a scenic view of the river too!
The chef must be a heavy smoker because wow the food is salty. If not for that, the food would be great. The kitchen is too slow to handle dinner service reasonably; we waited for an hour and a half for a table, then another hour and a half for the food to arrive despite the dining room not being full.
The wait staff is very friendly, though.
By far one of the nicest places I have eaten at in a while. The atmosphere is amazing the menu is outstanding and the service was incredible. Afterwards we walked outside and walked down by the river. Absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend this place
We stopped in on St Patrick's day for dinner. The food was excellent, & the creme Brule was perfection 10/10
A little pricey, but the food is good, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is unmatched by anything else in the area.
Beautiful setting on the river with outside seating. Delicious crafted cocktails. Menu offers many options.
We reserved a table outside. When we got there and got our food, there were many bees around our table, trying to get to the food, and surrounding us. It was to the point where we couldn't eat because they were on our forks and on our food.
I asked if there can be anything done to get rid of the bees, and was told that you have incense that would help the situation. It took a while for the servers to bring them out and when they did, it did not help at all. And so I asked the manager if we can move inside, and was told that there wasn't any room inside, which I understand that can happen. I again informed her of the bee issue and she responded "Yeah, the bees are bad this year. "
So we tried to give the incense time to remove some of the bees but still wasn't able to eat as no bees left. I looked around and saw that there were no bees at any other tables. So I asked the manager if we could move to another table outside, where we saw at least 10 tables available. And she responded and said that isn't possible and there isn't anything else they can do. She had no empathy for the situation whatsoever.
My wife then spoke to the manager and the manager stated that you don't have a bee problem, even though she told me it was bad. It took my wife speaking to the manager for us to move to a table near the bar area, but when we moved, the manager stated that she wouldn't be able to guarantee good service if we moved there. The waitress still served us, but it was humiliating, disappointing and disrespectful to be treated this way.
Stumbled upon this place, due to a street event going on at Burning Bridges. We arrived hungry at the street event and the line to even get a drink was long so we took a chance and walked down to John Wright. I had heard about this establishment and was very pleased with everything. The service and food was wonderful and the view is fantastic. I heard they have a great brunch, going to go back soon to try it. Little pricey, but worth it.
I really like this place with beautiful view, tasty food and friendly service. We had wait our food not a long time. We enjoyed our lunch time.
If it weren't for the lovely river view and friends, this meal would have been an entirely misrable experience.
I enjoy coming here for lunch. The view of the Susquehanna River is amazing. The food is always good. I usually get the California Wrap, but the Tuna Sashimi Salad is my new favorite! Service is always great.
Update: they have a really nice Sunday Buffetnow. We will definitely be back for that.
Easy place to work but dont quit on them their not a second chance company. Gave Jim Casey a valid reason and like every other business they take quiting as a grave offense against the company.
They cooked my New York strip twice and it was still too raw to eat. Service was great though.
