Judy's On Cherry reviews
16First time coming out to Judy's and I have to say the food was excellent hot and fresh. The staff was very nice and quick to get you what you needed. The host was very welcoming along with the atmosphere. Our waiter an waitress we had were Jordan and Megan and the both went above and beyond service wise. I would absolutely recommend trying this place out as the food is outstanding and service / environment is very relaxing. Great spot to bring someone for a date. I will be coming back again. Hope this helps you decide on your next meal an place to eat.
Worst service ever in a restaurant last night. Waited 20 minutes for our drink to be delivered and when it was the white wine was already warm. So it was sitting at the bar waiting to be delivered to us for a long time. Our server was probably new. Tall with dark hair and friendly, but very quiet. After our wine was finished we wanted to order another glass but did not see our server again until our main course was delivered and then she never asked if we wanted another drink. We would have had at least a couple more glass each if anyone had bothered to ask. So we drank water, and skipped desert to go elsewhere for a drink. Food was not bad, probably worth about 3 stars as the pork tenderloin was overcooked, but tasted okay. We won’t be back.
This restaurant is divine. The Apple Martini is the best, food is exquisite and service is quality. The atmosphere is very relaxed and ready to go in good company.
I wish there was a way to get this restaurant a 10 star. I’ve had my fair share of fine dining, but this has to be one of my favorite restaurants I’ve ever been to.
Just for the food stand point I thought the presentation, quality of food, and food choice combination was out of this world delicious.
We ordered:
butternut squash crab soup for a starter, was very sweet and delicious.
The fig bacon gorgonzola -this taste profile was very strong with the type of cheese and underlining hints of balsamic which was also delicious
Main Dish:
crab noodle dish- soft creamy dish
honey mustard crusted salmon with brussels sprouts and beets- I personally don’t like the taste of mustard, but thought this dish with the mustard brought out a lot of new flavors!
Everything on the menu seemed well thought through, they had a unique vegan option, vegetarian option, as well as a Thai dish and a few other special items that are on the website!
The atmosphere and mood of the restaurant was so charming, it was built in the 1800s and used to be & old farmers market, the colors & local art was so inviting and had so much personality.
The staff was so kind, they still give you space to have a romantic dinner without constantly being asked “how was the food” but there’s always somebody there to accommodate and assist. You can tell the owner of this restaurant treats her staff very well as everybody seems to love what they do and are taken care of.
* there is a flight of stairs going up to the restaurant, which are pretty steep so if you are handicap or not very mobile it’s a tad difficult to get into but the climb is worth it
Not sure how this places gets a 4.7 review. Made reservations 2 weeks ago for 730pm, arrived and was told there were people waiting for 2 hours and my reservation held no merit. Called to make a pre-order yesterday as per the instructions on their website, but no one ever answered each time I called. I know the pandemic was hard on restaurants, but i have been coming here for 8+ years, unfortunately business is not the same anymore. No service recovery or explanation for the matter. Please see their Facebook page comments to see I am not the only one who has had this experience.
I ended up with food poisoning after eating here about a month ago. Severe cramping, vomiting, and diarrhea. The staff was not attentive, we didn't receive the appetizer that was ordered (but included on the bill), food was barely warm when we received it an hour after we ordered. Very negative experience.
Went for lunch and the staff were all nice and attentive. I had a vegan pizza and my colleague had the soup and sandwich combo. Food came out quickly as ordered and hot. The drinks were refilled promptly which is important. Only thing I would ask is for more vegan options! But one is better than many restaurants.
Had the Chilean seabass and it was amazing. Service was excellent and love the old restored building. Wonderful experience- not sure why we waited so long to go back.
It was crowded and noisy, salad came 50 minutes after we got there, bread came after that. Entrees arrived even later. Husband's swordfish was overcooked and dry. My meal was good, but service was slow and no one came to check on how our meals were after they arrived.
We celebrated my wife's birthday last night at Judy's. The food and service were both excellent! Bethany was friendly, attentive, and helpful with menu descriptions without being intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed everything from the warm focaccia to the Casuela Roast of Jersey Scallops as well as some unique cocktails, (recommend the fig infused Manhattan)! Also, the butternut squash soup w/ crab and gorgonzola baked figs w/ bacon were scrumptious! For me, the mark of an exceptional meal is when you can honestly say that you enjoyed everything you chose and would choose the same things again. We both felt that way last night! Thanks so much for a great dining experience!
Reading is one unique city to say the least but this restaurant is a diamond in the rough we will be returning 100 percent. Food was excellent to say the least.
Truly a Jem in the heart of Reading. Intimate but casual fine dining. Excellent preparation and great service. The staff was on point. Looking for them to update the online menu as some of the options had changed.
After a very long day of traveling this was a great place to end up and enjoy the rest of my evening… The atmosphere of this restaurant is beautiful quaint charming and intimate… The wait staff was very friendly the service was great the food was even better… The next time I come to Reading I will come back to judys
Frequent travelers and this is the Hands down the best dining experience ever had. Food is fantastic, staff is lovely and Judy is a gem. Recommend sitting at the chefs station. It's like watching art
I stopped by with my service dog for a quick lunch. I was seated quickly, ordered, and had my meal in a reasonable amount of time. My meal, the environment, and service was also beyond my expectations. I will be a repeat customer.
First time at Judy's and was very impressed with the waitress and speed of service. Quality was good and prices were reasonable.
