Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery reviews
21This tour is worth going out of your way for. Very informative, interesting don't miss this little off the beaten path gem.
I was looking for an Amish pretzel but these were just as good. To be in a place with several different varieties is so amazing and delicious
This was an amazing opportunity to look at a piece of history. The tour was informative, fun, and educational. The gift shop has something for everyone. This is a great family activity for all ages!
Very nice historical tour right in downtown Lititz. $3.75 for tour, lots of history and interesting information. Very nice gift shop with lots if absolutely delicious pretzel concoctions definitely worth the visit
We took our 3 year old son and did the tour. We all made pretzels and learned the history of the building, the business and family. It was a great time!
Grandkids and have a great time, tour guide was very informative and easy to follow for a four and five year old. They both enjoyed making a pretzel.
We signed up for a tour online prior to our visit. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
The tour was very well done and the tour guide was knowledgeable and energetic! She kept our younger kids engaged and let them participate as much as possible. We learned the process of making the pretzels and the history behind them as well!
Hot pretzels are delicious. Large assortment of packaged treats. Tour was interesting. A must stop on your trip to Lititz.
Interesting 30 minute tour delving into the history of the Sturgis brand as well as the manufacturing of pretzels. Nice little shop to pick up some products.
All the reviews are spot on. Short 15 min tour. Kids do get to twist a pretzel but they don't bake it and let them take it anymore - probably because of covid. But their gift shop has great soft pretzels they make right there on site. I recommend hitting up the Lititz Museum for a kid friendly scavenger hunt right after! It's right next door and my 7 year old was so proud of herself for getting all the clues right. Lots of learning opportunities even if they don't claim to care about history!
Awesome tour and pretzel making experience. Tour guide made my day. Definitely for small kids, though. Pretzels definitely the best hard pretzels I've ever tasted!
Interesting tour with hands on activity and a little treat at the end. Nice gift shop-excellent soft pretzel which hit the spot after hearing about how they were made and smelling them baking. Highly recommend if passing through Lititz.

I found their soft pretzel to be just average, but the tour was extraordinary. Jacob, our tour guide, was incredibly informative and engaging, and he covered many historical aspects of the Sturgis family and the making of pretzels from the old days of manual labor through the present day of mass production. Numerous pieces of original equipment are still on display, and you even get to try your hand playing with pretzel dough. Just a wonderful, inexpensive little tour.
Old time pretzels from a legendary pretzel maker. Don't miss stopping in here! Worth the trip! Great tasting product and a great story.
Beautiful old building. Short tour for almost 4$. Premise made soft pretzels. Learn how to twist a pretzel by hand. A few parking spaces in the lot, otherwise it is street parking. Nice photo opportunity with a giant pretzel.
Had a really good time during the tour of the American heritage location. The birth place of hard pretzels. This place is full of history. Be aware there is no air conditioning in the back room.
The gift shop also sells some killer soft pretzels that go FAST!
Drove over 2 hours to visit this place and was told that we couldn't do the tour because we did not have a reservation. Interestingly, no where on the internet or when my wife called for Sunday hours was a reservation for the tour suggested. Very disappointed. Poor management and young, inexperienced staff.
Nice to visit the oldest pretzel factory in the US. Interesting tour where you get to try your hand at rolling a pretzel. Kid friendly and has a store featuring many of their pretzel types.
Very cool place to visit and see where pretzels were originally made. Do the small tour, it's very informative and interesting.
Fun experience for the family and kids. Cheap and worry the price for the mini tour and interactive pretzel testing tutorial. You get a free bag of pretzels at the end of the tour too.
I wasn't impressed by their soft pretzel but I suppose that's expected because it's a hard pretzel factory.:)
I learned a lot!
