Just Chill Creamery (Whitehall) reviews
13Finally got around to checking out Just Chill even though I only live a few minutes away. Very friendly and outgoing staff, huge variety of hard ice cream, soft serve, dole whip, sundaes, no sugar added, ice cream cakes, ice cream cookie sandwiches, etc. My wife went with the Oreo sundae, I had a cmp sundae and we got a pup cup for our dog. Very reasonable prices and all three items were thoroughly enjoyed. We’ll be back soon!
We stopped here on a whim and had the most pleasant experience! Jake Percival, owner, was pleasant, informative, offered samples and just had the best customer service! I HIGHLY recommend going here!
Delicious ice cream! I ordered a waffle taco (homemade waffle cone shaped like a taco with chocolate PB with PB sauce, whip cream, and a cherry), a pup cup, and a small Raspberry Road Runner. Not sure what brand ice cream and it’s not homemade but it’s really good. Will definitely come here again!
The pineapple dole whip is AMAZING, and the ice cream in a tub, available for purchase, is the creamiest ice cream I've ever had. The entire place is decorated so adorably. 10/10.
I love the chocolate dipped peanut waffle cones. I go there more for that then the ice cream. Problem is they run out of chocolate every other time I go. Atleast that's the case at the Emmaus location. I was really wanting an ice cream today but left empty handed because no chocolate to make the dipped cones. Disappointed. Please order more chocolate so these are a staple. Thank you.
We choose Just Chill over the place across the street all the time, but now I'm confused as to why. Partially filled large cups? Maybe not the next time.
Lovely new ice cream spot in Whitehall! I loved the pretzelvania flavor & my family enjoyed the soft serve vanilla! There are so many options including vegan Dole whip! The decor was adorable & added to the overall experience.definitely recommend coming here!
Extremely friendly staff and very attentive! I have to admit, I personally prefer the taste of their ice cream over their COMPETITION
Delicious ice cream (and vegan Dole whip). Wide assortment of flavors. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great prices. Will definitely be back!
With competition across the street I don’t know if it was a new employee but if they skimp on there small cones anymore they won’t be in business to long just a heads up
Being in the former location of King Cone (KC), we were, at-first, taken aback by another ice creamery moving into this location.seing that KC just moved across the street into it's own building. I'm not sure if the intersection can support two ice creameries; I hope so for the owners. We have been faithful customers of KC for many years, for both hard and soft-serve ice cream, so it should come as no surprise that we felt a bit guilty for crossing the street to give the new competition a try; but, ultimately we gave in to curiosity.
We don't often dine in; 90% of our business is take-out. On our first visit, we ordered the 2 most-popular items we typically order, a hand-dipped CMP sundae and a soft-serve vanilla/chocolate twist.both large in cups to go. It is a short 4 minute drive door-to-door, from home to Just Chill. When we arrived home, we opened the containers to find both thick ice cream 'soups'. The CMP held up better, of-course, but we had to delay eating to try re-freezing in the freezer. The soft-serve did not freeze very well, but I did try it for flavor and it tasted good, as did the CMP.
Judging apples-to-apples against KC, here are our findings. The flavor of both are good. The honor of favorite, goes to KC by a very slim margin. If it weren't for the melt-and-refreeze issue, JC may have topped out. I would go into price, but price is only relative if both portion sizes were equal. Understanding that, JC's price was a little less expensive, but KC's portions were clearly larger than JC's, by around 1/4-1/3 cup for the large size. The biggest issue for Just Chill is their thin cardstock type containers; they offer very little insullation.thus the reason for the very quick melting. If I were to offer a suggestion that might benefit Just Chill, I would recommend changing to styrofoam like KC.it does a MUCH better job of keeping the treats cold and they are recyclable. The other option that comes to mind is wrapping to-go containers in heavy foil wrap to try to keep the cold in and the heat out.that is if you stay with the current containers. I'm not sure if that will perform as well as the styrofoam, but it should be better than just the cardstock containers.
We are planning to try Just Chill again. If they don't have different container options for to-go/take-away orders, we will eat there to get a better sense of the product. I hope the owner understands this review is not meant to be mean or overly critical. We hope to have a better experience next time. I will update this review then.
They have the best ice cream! There's a great selection of flavors. They make waffle cones fresh. The seating area is beautiful! The prices are very good too. This is my new favorite ice cream stop. I highly recommend it!
Its my first time there. My kids have had one visit prior though. There is said to have been no complaints that visit, but today I wanted to contact the business to communicate that the 6 of us had stale cones to go w the ice cream and couldn't reach them for comment bc there is no phone number listed for the business. I'm not too happy about that. I'd love to continue to support this community ice cream parlor, but first I would like to be able to know what they can do about this issue I am having w this trip.
