Kabuki Japanese Restaurant reviews
17 Very friendly and sweet staff, amazing sushi and very nice environment.
This will eventually be my go to sushi restaurant in Philadelphia. ️
OK restaurant. Good service. A bit overpriced for what they offer: low ambience and no wine or beer.
I ordered one of their dinner entrees. The chicken was done just right. The rice was luke warm. And the “steamed” veggies were cold. They started with miso soup (tasty but again luke warm — shouldn’t soup be hot?) and a small salad (cold and crisp — delicious).
A lot of reviewers rave about this place, but it’s not clear to me why.
Went here on a whim while I was in the area and craving sushi. Do not judge this place by the exterior because this is one of the best sushi spots I've been to. I made a few special requests to my dish and they accommodated well. Service was very fast, and the waitresses came by often to check up on us and take plates away. Sushi and sashimi were very fresh! Presentation was also wonderful. Only complaint I have is that the miso soup was a little bland, but it's not that big of an issue. Overall, very excellent sushi spot!
Had dinner here with my girlfriend and friend. We went ham and got lots of appetizers and greatly enjoyed the food. Of particular note is their miso fish/cod appetizer and the rocky shrimp. Both are extremely flavorful.
Rolls run you $5-$10 and entrees are $12-20. So for a complete meal you certainly don’t need to spend more then $20.
This was my first time at Kabuki. Staff was friendly and the food was great. We ordered the gyoza and shumai appetizers with some sashimi and sushi. To finish it off we ordered some hibachi. The only reason I can't give this a 5 star rating is bc my wife's hibachi shrimp order had hair in it, twice. We got the first order replaced but then the 2nd order also had human hair in it. Food was great otherwise and I would give them another shot if I was local. But seeing as I come to KOP for special occasions, I'm not sure I'd want to risk a meal here again.
When we asked for some small plates to share our sushi rolls, one of the plates still had orangish dry sauce from previous users. The server just shrugged it off "just that one is dirty" and throwing another plate in, from the same stack! That made me feel horrible but I couldn't walk away as I was with my colleagues.
The fact that everyone work there were Chinese should not affected my judgments for this place, if it's not for this very unhygienic practice.
The rolls were okay, wasabi was really bad. I wouldn't try any raw food here.
I hope they care for it before anyone get seriously sick. I won't take the risk and won't ever come back!
Tucked away right off of Dekalb, great little place. Great variety, amazing food, wonderful service.
We had a nice dinner. All the food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice after a long day at work.
Poor service, poor quality over priced. See pics, there is more chicken on a wing. See my dumplings, soup isseparated. Noodles are mush.
This was the restaurant at which we had a casual lunch for the first time in March 2015. We are now happily married
Our daughter loves Sushi so we took her here for her 18th birthday. My wife and I were never Sushi fans, but we are now. Try the Hawaiian Tempura for $13.95. You'll want to lick the plate when finished! The service was very helpful too. We'll be back soon.
Food always smells good and they are very nice.i get a lot of orders from here for doordashing
Food was cold and even though I complained they refused to do anything concerning the situation.
I used to LOVE this place. Last two times recently, I can tell the quality is down. It’s a shame. I used to like the tuna dumplings- they were so bad this time. They put the fake crab inside instead of a sweet plantain also the tuna was grissley like they didn’t even cut it right so it was inedible. Amazing tuna roll was also not amazing. Tuna on top def seemed old. I’m not a happy camper bc big waste of money. Definitely will not be returning
Everything was ok. The cups they gave us for water were dirty. The spicy winter dinner was not very spicy. They could imporve some things.
From the outside it does not look too appealing, but the food is great. Super fresh Sushi. Great service.
