Well had my tractor picked up for belt issues.
Almost 2 months and $540 dollars later!
3 belts and pulley replacement.

I decided to buy belts on Amazon around $60.
Had issues afterwards with the tractor
Had him pick up tractor and requested a quote for belts replacement.
Asked several times for a quote and was referred me to pricing from Amazon! Asked him for labor quote and was referred to book time. With no dollar amount mentioned.
He’s a good talker and will talk his way around the pricing. GET THE QUOTE FIRST
Although I may have been taken, the work was good and tractor works better then new lol

First day of spring I went and paid him the money for repairs and took it home to cut my grass. The new belt that he has put on was so loose that it continuously fell off over and over every 30 seconds when operating the tractor. I called him for weeks about this issue because the belt was beginning to wear because of the incorrect size. Again, 90% of the time I could no reach him and had no option to leave a voicemail. Each time I did get a hold of him his instructions were always the same "you have to tighten the cotter pin to take some slack out of the belt" and each time we did just that. Eventually there was no more thread to tighten the pin any further and the belt burnt itself out in less then 6 weeks after picking it up from him. Mind you, most of my 2 acres was cut during these 6 weeks was with a push mower because the belt wouldn't stay on! Finally after this issue I had enough, I began calling and emailing relentlessly in hopes that he'd respond. No luck. I had to physically go to his shop and leave a note on his door to respond to my email. He did and told me to bring it back it. I did the very next day. A week later after not hearing from him I called again, he said it would be ready the next day and he'd call me when it's ready. 2 days pass, and no call from Ken. He makes the same promise again. No response for a week afterwards. As a last attempt I call him and beg for my money back. Even suggested that he give me only $450 back so I can go buy something else because of my desperate need for a tractor. As an alternative, even suggested that he trade me a cheaper tractor if he had one. Calls back and is very firm in not giving me a cent back. Also stated that he would be willing to trade if he had a tractor but didn't have one at the moment. Also said I could come pick up the tractor whenever I wanted and that he changed the belt for free but that I won't be getting anymore freebies and that I need to take better care of the tractor! Laughable. Wow nice guy right? Not charging me again for something I just paid you to do 6 weeks ago. I go to pick up the tractor this morning and lo' and behold what do i see? !? A tractor on his lot with a for sale sign on it! But this couldn't be could it? Surely, not after he had told me that he didn't have a tractor to trade me? Sure was though! I started up MY tractor while I was there and drove it across his property to load it in my truck. Literally 100-150 feet! It began smoking incredibly bad and the deck began to rattle terribly. Seconds later the belts burns right off. Called his business number and knocked on the door, no answer. But curtains kept moving and someone was surely peeping out. I called the cops and had the North Sewickley Chief of Police meet me at his property. He inspected the tractor, took a few pictures and filed a report. Also told us that it's not the first time they'd been here for a lemon being sold to someone or some form distasteful business. Unfortunately it looks as though I'll have to take him to small claims court. Incredibly ridiculous to have to do all this instead of him trading or giving at least SOME of my money back and taking the tractor. We'll see if he's willing to change his tune or if I'll be going to file a claim. Between the receipts, emails, and police report I'm pretty sure it'll work out favorable if need be, just a lot of wasted time on my part though.
