5 stars for service, 2 stars for communication, so maybe 3.5 average.

10/6 - I brought my computer in with some difficult to diagnose issues, they said they'd take a look and get back to me in a week.

10/18 - 12 days later, I hadn't heard from them so I called and they said they're swamped and haven't gotten around to it so give them another week.

10/26 - tech calls me and says he took a look, we have a very productive discussion. He says he's out of ideas (which I understand and appreciate), and that he'll have the boss man take a look.

11/3 - no update yet so I call, they say they haven't got around to it and to check back in a week.

11/10 - I call them and it was a little vague but I got the impression they haven't touched it since 10/26, so I say I'd like to pick it up the next day.

11/11 - I pick up the computer and they are polite and don't charge me since they couldn't replicate my problems.

So all in all this took over 5 weeks to get my computer back that I use to work from home (I had a spare laptop in the meantime, but it was a bit of a burden). They knew at the beginning they had a backlog, so they absolutely should not have said it'll take around 1 week.

If they had such a backlog that they knew it would take several weeks, or if when they heard my issues and saw my machine they realized this is not the kind of job they want to take, then they had several opportunities to gracefully refuse service or pull the plug or be honest about the timeframe, but they didn't, they just kept saying "1 more week, " and I think I was about as patient as I could've been.

I get the impression that they are somewhat disorganized and afraid to say "no, " but also the fact that they're so busy, plus my conversation with the tech, plus all these other reviews tells me they are skilled technicians. So, 3 stars for now.

I will give them another chance next time I have tech issues since this could've been a fluke (I know they had a tech on vacation for weeks 4 and 5 of our interaction, which can't be easy) so I'll edit my rating and review if that's the case.

Friendly front of house, quickly identified my computer's issue and offered a reasonable price to get it fixed. I was quoted 300 dollars and six days.

Three weeks later, there had been no communication that I didn't initiate and when I asked the status of my job, I was brushed off without recognition of the delay.

That said- the last time I followed up, they were very conciliatory and went above and beyond to help resolve the issue as best they could.

Excellent service. I am extremely leary about having anybody but myself for family fix any computer after a bad experience years ago but Kevin was so polite when I talked to him on phone and explained the issue and what I had done to try to fix it. He said it bring it in. Was dropped off and we have had the computer back for about a week now after he fixed the issue and it works perfectly. Kevin and his wife were polite on the phone and in the shop they didn't try to over sell anything or try to get my father to get an unnecessary upgrade for his system so so happy with the service they provide for their customers will definitely call them again for any other issue. The dog is cute as well.

Kevin did a fantastic job! From the outset this operation may seem a bit janky but they know what they're doing. I had a fan going bad on my graphics card for my laptop and for a reasonable price he fixed it within a day or so. The only wait was for the part to be delivered. So if you want you can order the part yourself to save that time up front.

Also, a bonus, if you're in the market for some vintage stuff like 00's era Macs, CRTs and other vintage stuff. I didn't ask if they were for sale but I know there's a market for that stuff so I'm sure he'd sell them for the right price.

Kevin has brought my corrupted files back from the dead twice now. The are countless people and companies out there that would take advantage of your desperation when you are in a vulnerable spot. It's reassuring to know you have a real person in Pittsburgh who can help you navigate the heartbreak of losing your work in a calm and straightforward way. I am forever grateful that Kevin's Computers exists. Also, God bless that computer crisis comfort dog!

I can't say enough about how good they are at this place! Very friendly and professional and easy to work with. They are way more reasonable on pricing than I would have ever thought. My 10 year old computer is operating like new and I'm really happy about it. When you think computer repair you think big bucks. Nope. Not here. You should try them if you need your computer fixed.

Prompt, affordable service. Kevin is kind and helpful. I haven’t tried anywhere else but wouldn’t even consider it now that I’ve worked with him and his team.

Kevin really did a great job, he and his mate are very professional and kevin's wife is very kind too. They really made a good impression on me, if I have a problem with my computer in the future I will come back to them for repairs.

By far the best in town.
