King George II Inn reviews
17The King George is a bright light in down town Bristol. We sat on the main floor at a table overlooking the river. It was very nice. We had a lovely, efficient waitress who appeared very busy. (lack of employees?) She never missed a beat with us. My partner had crab cakes priced at market which he said were very good and I had the King George pork chop which was excellent. There seemed to be a few larger parties in side rooms. This restaurant is definitely a great place for a special meal.
This place is amazing. I really enjoyed every minute of it. They have some amazing chefs. The owner even came around to introduce himself. It really set a great night and the view is amazing near the water. I really loved everything about the experience, prices and food.
Been there 2 time and have not been disappointed. There pork chop is out of this world. There staff are very friendly highly recommend this place.
Love coming here. Food and atmosphere always excellent. Outside eating is fabulous and the views are great.clean inside and put. Waitataff always very nice. Highly recommend.
Edit Edit!
9/9/21
I’ve been back a dozen times since my last posts. Mainly because my office is close and it’s convenient. The drinks have always been good. So we generally Just stick to drinks and apps Now. I believe in giving credit where
Credit is due. The Cobb salad is
Out if this world. It’s my favorite thing to get. But I also believe In transparency. The lobster Mac and cheese needs to be called out. $36 dollars for a less than mediocre dish that consists of (1) lobster claw and a few pieces of meat. This was the second biggest disappointment since the failed seafood Tower, which i reviewed below. For two people to have lunch it was $176 for lunch. Lol. Absolutely Appalling. I mean that’s just crazy. A Dozen oysters, three margaritas, 2 Soups, one salad and one lobster Mac and cheese? $145 plus tip
EDIT!
7/12/19. Came back to King George.
Due to the convenience and the beautiful location I regrettably gave them another chance. Boy what a mistake. KG added a new menu item, a very expensive appetizer (a seafood tower) and it sounded great! For $75, they were offering a dozen oysters, a dozen shrimp and 4 lobster, crab, and something else boats. As I’ve stated in my reviews. I’m not cheap. And I don’t have a problem with spending for good food. This new appetizer at $75 is the most expensive item on the menu. I. HAVE. NEVER. BEEN. MORE. DISAPPOINTED! Firstly, I’m not stranger to these towers. They’re common in lots of restaurants. But let me tell you this. The oysters were horrible. Most of them weren’t edible. I get better Buck a shuck oysters from anywhere else. The shrimp? Well they were shrimp. Not bad, but nothing special. And the lobster crab boats? They tasted like cheap lobster crab mayonnaise salad specials you would get from a grocery store seafood department.
They came on lettuce leaves and after 5 minutes of being outside, the lobster crab boats were Literally that.boats. As the ice melted they floated in seafood water. I really don’t know why this place can’t get it together. It’s unbelievable. They must hire drop out chefs from culinary schools.
Between our drinks and food we spent over $200 tonight. For 2 people. And it’s just unbelievable to me that this caliber of food
Is being offered at this price.
KG. You have to do better. I would take this seafood tower off the menu as it’s absolutely awful and no one deserves to spend
That kind of money for that low quality of a dish.
Other then that we had the pretzel and crab dip, the calamari and a fish and chips platter. The rest of the food wasn’t bad at all. The Fish and chips fish was flakey and cooked well but flavorless. The sweet potato fries were really good, the calamari was really good and the crab dip and pretzels was ok.
I’ve been to the KGI dozens of times. Not one of these times has ever made me want to come back. Unfortunately.
What’s sad, is that they have amazing real estate. The view and locale is great. The food is just very unimpressive. And to top it off. This isn’t an cheap place. The prices here are insane. I have no problems paying for quality food. I’m a regular city diner so I am no stranger to expensive meals. For what you pay here, it’s highly disappointing. I know they have been trying to do better over the last year or so but it’s just not enough.
The interior is very dark, gloomy and bland and partly because it’s a tribute bar, I get it. But it’s not an inviting feeling place. Some of the appetizers can be very good. But this place screams early bird and is the type
If place your grandparents eat and would take you for lunch. With the amazing up and coming restaurant scene in the borough, this is surely last on the list to attend. I have never had bad service or an unpleasant experience. Just less then mediocre food and an dated drab environment.
I've visited a half dozen times over the last several years and have had a great experience each time. Also love the park and waterfront area just outside.
This place is pricey but in my opinion it’s worth it. The food is excellent, service is always good, and in the summer months it’s really nice to sit at a table outside right on the riverfront.
This place is phenomenal! Our table overlooking the Delaware, the entire staff, our waiter Charlie is top notch and the food was excellent. We will be returning very soon. We had a variety of food.very very good. Highly recommend the grilled pork chop.
Wow! What an experience. My new "Go To" place in Bucks County! You delivered on your advertisement "Great Food. Great Drinks. Great Times. " And Great Staff! Shout out to our waitress Christina and Co-owner Bruce Thank you for introducing yourself at our table!
Exquisite at its finest! Everything about this place is awesome. From the food choices on the menu, staff, owners, and the beautiful view of the wharf. This restaurant is perfect for any occasion. The drinks are also to die for! Some days they have a singer outside (check their socials for updates on events). Highly recommend and worth every penny!
Wow! Had the bacon crab stuff shrimp first, Outstanding! Enjoyed cucumber drink so much I ordered another. For meal I got the avocado melt it was delicious! Staff was friendly. Nice place! Cant wait to go back!
We have dined here manu times over the years. We dined this time on the outdoor patio. The weather was lovely, the serbice was excellent (he had only been working there less than a week, was excellent service), and the food was outstanding as always.
Was very disappointed.my daughter ordered Gias mac and cheese. It was kraft. All kids meals are 12 dollars. I really did not expect them to be serving kraft mac and cheese. The food went down hill. We used to love it here. My daughter also was given ice cream with a dirty cup.
I heard that King George Inn was hiring so I decided to walk in to introduce myself and ask for a job. This older man who I'm assuming was the manager was extremely rude. The young man he was talking to becore me he was extremely rude to and then when it was my turn to talk to him, i said i heard rhey were hiring and asked if they had any serving jobs available. He said "i'm not talking to you at 1 pm during lunch. I'm not talking to you, im busy" and stormed off. Didn't leave a good impression at ALL. No wonder you're desperate for people to work foe you. You're rude! I wouldn't want to work for you either.
Not only is the food excellent, but the atmosphere is quaint and elegant, and the customer service is incredible. My filet was cooked to perfection and the meatloaf last time was also great. Highly recommend for a nice night out.
The last time I ate here, the server insinuated that I didnt have enough money to afford to sit. I was dressed nicely and sat outside on the patio with my mom. He continued to tell us the meals, and their prices, of which he assumed we could afford. I didn't ask for the manager because I was in shock that he had the audacity to treat us like vagrants. We still ordered because the food was recommended by a friend, but took everything to go. I thought leaving a nice tip would prove him wrong, but I am still writing this review to get some closure. Who could have thought a server could belittle their patrons so much.
A beautiful Sunday evening at an historic restaurant overlooking the Delaware river and our party of ten was seated in a charmless room on the street side of the building. No salads included with dinners and a $4 charge for some bread at the table. Food was good, service was good, Zack especially.
