Japanese Restaurant Kinme reviews
17Every dish I ordered was perfect and delicious, but the workers seemed a little shy and we had to keep calling them instead of them checking up on us.
Delicious food and great service. The owner offered us complimentary mango margaritas right when she sat us
Came in for a quick dinner
Tried a few of the ‘basic’ rolls and even those had new and innovative flavor profiles. Great attentive service.
Wasn’t able to try the lunch special but looks great as well.
Good food and good service! We only got the shrimp tempura roll and california roll, but both were yummy: D our waitress was very nice and they were giving complimentary mango martinis as well, which were delicious (u can get it virgin too). Very cozy little space perfect for catching up w a friend or a small birthday, v good vibes:)
Not sure how I haven’t reviewed this place yet! I’ve gotten takeout twice and dined in twice and each time it’s been 10/10. It’s about a 5 min walk from my apartment and I love that it’s a casual neighborhood joint with top quality sushi offerings. I’m so glad I discovered it and I’ve also recommended it to friends and family. My dad loved it the one time I brought him too. Can’t wait for my next visit!
I had an incredible dining experience at Kinme, the BYOB Japanese sushi spot! The Phantom Roll and South Pacific Roll were absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor and creativity. The Peach Tea was a delightful surprise, truly phenomenal. The friendly staff and cozy ambiance made it a perfect evening. I can't wait to return for more! Highly recommended!
I had the miso salmon roll and the yuzu lobster roll. Both were really good. My boyfriend got the Incredible Hulk roll and the Kinme fried rice with steak. The fried rice was really good because it had Chinese sausage, which is a flavor booster. This place is a BYOB but they also had their own tea and soft drinks. They give you a little bit of ice cream if you pay with Venmo or cash.
A gem. Really excellent food and a great dine-in experience, which is rare for sushi joints in the neighborhood these days.
Was there on 7/24 for dinner and a comedy show. Food was excellent and the atmosphere was great with the exception of a table of 8 self involved women celebrating a birthday who after finding out that a comedy show was taking place selfishly decided to talk louder and louder over the comedians. No matter how this table acted the owner of Kinme and the host of the comedy show were professional, gracious, and courteous the the table despite their rude behavior. Looking forward to next months comedy show and sushi dinner.
Kinme is a truly special restaurant in the Gayborhood serving excellent, fresh sushi in a calm, lovely atmosphere! Owner Nancy goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and cared for. I was at Kinme on Monday 7/24 for a comedy show which was a blast! The only thing that soured the experience was a group of 8 women who came in for a birthday dinner, KNEW the comedy show was happening, and talked loudly through 4 comedians’ performances until they were asked to quiet down. They finally left, but continued speaking loudly and insulted the comedians outside as they walked out. Nancy and her staff handled the situation with grace and professionalism. Overall, I highly recommend Kinme to anyone in Philadelphia looking for delicious sushi and exceptional service!
What a hidden gem! It’s BYOB with no cork fee, the fish is fresh and so delicious, and the service is fantastic. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Update: my boyfriend and I went back 3 months later and Nancy remembered us and greeted us like old friends—the food was just amazing once again.
Kinme is a hidden treasure of a Japanese sushi restaurant in Philadelphia. I ordered two rolls: The "Legally Blonde" roll with Hamachi, jalapeno, scallion, seared blue fin toro, chives, and passion fruit ponzu. It's a burst of freshness and tangy sweetness. The spicy salmon roll with avocado is a classic favorite that hits the spot every time. With its brunch and low-light vibe, Kinme is the perfect spot for a fresh sushi experience.
Our experience at Kinme was absolutely one of a kind. Have never had a sushi experience like this before. The unique roles, while pricey, were some of the best rollls that we have ever had as a group of five. The flavor combinations were creative yet thoughtful and not just for the shock value. Open my mind for what's possible with sushi flavor combinations. On top of this, Nancy, our server, was the most hospitable that we had while in Philadelphia. Other than the fact she made us wash our own dishes. This was an evening to remember and we will refer all of our friends do this location. Do not miss while in Philly!
Best kept secret in the city. The reviews do not lie - I ordered Doordash from Kinme on a whim and they are now my go-to restaurant for sushi and especially fried rice. On god best fried rice Ive ever had in Philly! Let alone anywhere. Cant recommend enough, plus staff is super super friendly! Dont miss out on this
This was by far the best sushi at this price point in Philly. I cannot recommend Kinme highly enough!
One of my favorite sushi spots in the city. Everything we’ve tried there has been delicious. Highly recommend the Beef Tataki, the Aladdin Roll and the Salmon sushi!
Loved the meal at Kinme! The lady who was our waitress was so nice and kind, taking wonderful care of us and our BYOB drinks! We loved the following rolls: Aladdin, Legally Blonde, Tuna Crispy Rice (i think that's the name?), and Hamilton. Crown salmon was not my favorite unfortunately, but it's not bad. The highlight was the service. Thank you!
