Lakeside Home Rentals, Lake Ariel PA

I am an owner of a property that I used Lakeside to manage for my rentals. They were awful. My house was destroyed (beds broken, holes in windows, holes in walls-too many to list.) It is a large house that was perfectly decorated. I feel badly for anyone who rented it at its high price, Lakeside did nothing to upkeep it. Weeds everywhere, furniture destroyed (guests peeled the leather off of a sofa and we were never informed!) we were embarrassed when we returned to see it such a mess. We never saw a security deposit nor were informed of all the damages which we would have addressed. Someone (I’m guessing them) even tried to patch-fix beds that were broken with screws all over (I assume guests let their kids jump on them) instead of holding security deposits. For all we know, the security deposits were held but we were never privy to any information until I had people go up to look at the house. Anyway, we took our home back, gut renovated it and will never rent it out again due to our awful experience. Terrible and costly experience.

Do not trust this company’s policies. They do not disclose vital information on the other home sharing apps they are on. They stole over $1,000 from my family when trying to cancel because they lied about their cancellation policy on AirBnB.

If you want to be swindled and lied to, book with them. Dont book on Airbnb or trust their cancellation policies. They want to keep 50% of the booking even though we abided by the cancellation policy they left on Airbnb which was 14 days before check in or before December 22nd. Now they are ignoring our calls and messages. This is completely unprofessional. Dont use Airbnb they dont care about this their customers and this company is a joke. They claim that they have their own cancellation policies, which is fine, but post them on all your booking platforms, dont deceive your customers for your own profit.

We just rented a house (1917 Lakeview E) from Lakeside Home Rentals for a long weekend (Fri-Tues). Saturday afternoon we no longer had any hot water. We reached out to the 24 hour emergency number, no answer and no response. Finally on Sunday, after multiple attempts of calls, emails and Facebook messages they sent a “carpenter” to look at the hot water heater. The water heater needed to be replaced. No one ever came to replace the water heater and no one ever responded back to us. We ended up having to cut our trip short because of not having any hot water and the toilet in the master bathroom leaking. The house was also filthy even though you pay a “cleaning fee” it looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Now it has been 2 days since we left and still no response from anyone.
