Lakshmi Hair Studio, Philadelphia PA

I "found" John 2 years ago after a disastrous visit to another salon (my hair looked like and had the texture of a whisk broom). John is truly a master of his craft, conscientious and willing to take the time to figure out the best way to remedy the messes (yes, unfortunately there have been messes, plural; I am only "home" once or twice a year, so have to rely on others when not in PA). I can walk in and ask him to do whatever he feels is best, cut or color, and walk out feeling fabulous! His coworkers have always been friendly and courteous, to boot. Win-win.

Great place to get a hair cut, everyone of them is experienced, and they make you feel welcomed.

Made an apt 3 wks in advance with Robin for a permanent wave. Received a phone call the day of that the apt was being canceled d/t a family emergency. I do not have availability to come in during the wk which is why I made an apt for Sunday. I understand family emergencies come up but as a brand new client it seems like I would have been fit in with someone else instead of offered another apt almost a week later. Not rescheduling here

Best salon in Philly! Vincent did a great job on my balayage today and got the stubborn red tone out of my hair. Very happy

This hair studio is amazing! I've been looking for a new salon and stylist and I'm so glad I found this one. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Vinny did my cut and color for the first time and I'm so happy with my results! He's so patient, kind, and talented! Highly recommend!

When I first moved to Philly, about 6 years ago, I bounced around to a few different salons/barbers trying to find the right fit. I tried probably about a dozen or so spots. I finally settled on Lakshmi. I have been getting my haircut by Joe for I think about 4 years now. Joe is super personable, easy to work with and gets what I'm going for really well. Lakshmi is a little pricier than other places I've been, but I seem to be getting what I pay for. I always feel well handled here, and I've never left unhappy with my haircut. Haven't found another place that was able to quite match that. A few select times when Joe wasn't available I got my hair cut by one of the other stylists and felt well handled by them as well, so overall I've been more than satisfied with my years of service here.

Jamie Madelyn was my hair colorist at today’s appointment and she was so personable! I love the balayage hair color she gave me and highly recommend her! Can’t wait to be a part of this new hair studio now that I moved to Philly!

Have been going here since 2014! Highly recommend Kyle for blondes w/ thick hair — she does magic (!) Also, super safe atmosphere during COVID is a major plus. Fair prices for trusted, top-notch styling.

I’ve been coming here for years to get my hair done. Allie has been coloring my hair for a while now, she’s extremely talented especially if your a blonde and Sam is great at blow outs & cuts! The assistances and front desk girls are always super helpful and friendly

Two months later, I still hate the haircut. The worst ever. And paid twice for it, the second time was the biggest disaster.

The worst hair cut ever. I went twice and the second one was a total disaster. The stylist ended up removing hair from both sides in such way that it looks weird and without any reasoning behind it. When I went to another hair salon to try to repair the weird hair cut, the stylist there could not understand what happened and why my hair was styled in that super weird way. I ended up paying full price in both "trials" and the biggest issue for me was my wasted time and huge disappointment with the outcome.

Wonderful place. Never a disappointment when leaving. John is one of the best stylists in the Studio. I have been going to him for almost 17 years now.

I have been going to Robin for years to craft all of my hair needs. There are a lot of very talented hair artists that make you feel truly amazing when you walk out the door. Kyle is another very talented stylist who gets the color and tone that's right for you.

I’ve been going to Lakshmi for almost 3 years now, and every experience has been nothing short of fabulous. I always leave feeling like a celeb. Highly recommend this place and Sam D!
