Lancaster Liederkranz reviews
12 This is a great place. The Events are always well staffed and plenty of good food, drinks, and people. A very fun time.
And they also have their own shirts!
A great place. Must have a membership to enter or be a guest of a member. Food was 10 out of 10 stars.
Nice German club tucked away in Hempfield along Chiques creek. I attended a bourbon dinner and food was fantastic. Lots of Bert's on tap and prices were half that of a restaurant. It is a membership based business. There was indoor and outdoor seating, ample parking, as well as a Pavillion. Definitely worth looking into if you live in the area
The food is excellent and love their selection of German beers. Everyone is really friendly
Fun time at their Octoberfest! Good music and dancing! We loved watching people learning German dance. Very hard to find seating, it was crowded! But that's to be expected. ;)
Lots of beer.of course! And they had various wines and schnapps, like Rumple Minze, on offer. The kielbasa, red cabbage and potato pancakes were tasty! However, being of Pa Dutch/German decent, I was a little disappointed that schnitzel wasn't available when we visited on Saturday. Apparently, it's only served on Sunday in sandwich form?
And no spaetzle or apple strudel like we've enjoyed at the Reading Liederkranz. But fun time anyway!
Had a great time lots of food, music, beer & wine! I highly recommend a vist to this event!
Friends of ours live in the area and invited us to join them at Oktoberfest. There was German beer, good food and desserts. The band and dancing was enjoyable!
Their annual Oktoberfest is a great place to gather with friends and family. Bring cash and get there early for a table under the tents. Parking is $10. There is a remote parking lot with school busses to shuttle you back and forth. There is a charge to enter. There are also a few vendors with hats, pins, jewelry, t-shirts etc and a number of used and new German clothing, steins and accessories under the tent as you arrive. They have dressing rooms for trying on clothes. Trade cash for tickets when you arrive and purchase raffle tickets! You will need a minimum of 20 tickets for a platter, a beer, and a dessert. Bring your own stein or mug to fill or get a pitcher. This year I got the currywurst platter with wonderful German potato salad and red cabbage. The dessert table had a large variety of sweets. Later I bought a potato pancake and applesauce and we got some soft pretzels. There are activities for children - a magic show and a not to be missed Punch and Judy show plus a nice playground and a craft area to make a birdhouse or a shield. There are plenty of bathrooms and they were clean and stocked. There is a singing men's group, a band, and lots of opportunities for audience participation and dancing.
We came to Somerfest and had a great time! Good food and beer, fun music, dance demonstrations
I was there with the band but it seemed like the children were having lots of fun with the games.
Membership Club.
German Food and German Bands. Recommended. You can go as a Guest, if someone signs you in, Good way to Try this place.
Yes, at the Christkindmarkt today. Good food, pork schnitzel, and strudel! Wide variety of German beers. Es ist kostlich.
