Lauder Family Campground reviews
10This is a no frills campground. Large wooded sites that make you appreciate just being outdoors. Very clean and 2 Ponds. Bathhouse was modern and handicapped accessible. I loved it!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic campground with my boyfriend for a long weekend, and it exceeded all our expectations. Nestled in the serene woods, it provided the perfect getaway we were looking for.
The clean and spacious private bath house was a real highlight, offering a level of comfort and hygiene we truly appreciated. It made our camping experience feel luxurious while still being in the heart of nature.
What truly set this campground apart were the welcoming and helpful owners. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and offered valuable insights about the area, ensuring we had a memorable stay. Be sure to check out their directions to spot elk close by posted on their bath houses. Their direction were spot on and we were able to see well over 15 Elk in that one are.
Overall, our time at this campground was an absolute delight. If you're seeking a peaceful and comfortable camping experience with accommodating hosts, I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem in the woods.
Rv sites were HUGE and super affordable. The owners were sooo nice and aweaome and accomodating. Our favorite campground in Elk viewing areas. Booked for the following year the weekend we were there. Super clean facilities and bath houses. Would recommend highly to anyone.
This is one of our favorite campgrounds ever! It's family owned and run and you can tell this is their joy. The facilities are brand new, it's clean, tidy and beautiful facilities and grounds. The roads are rock so there's not dirt being tracked in as much. There is a hose for water and a dumping station next to the bathrooms and the sites are all just power. The bathrooms are the biggest and cleanest I've ever seen. There are two full size bathrooms with showers and a port o potty. There are two catch and release ponds. We used the small one the whole time and caught stuff the whole time we were there. On the way in, there is a cabin and a valley with a corn field where the elk graze and dawn and dusk. We are hoping to go back in the winter time to stay in the heated cabin. There were many other animals on the road that leads to the campground like sooo many deer, bunnies, groundhogs. We didn't see anything at the actual campground but we were out during the day most of the time visiting family. The owner. Denny, also takes people out in the big pond to go noodling during the spawning season in June and early July. (That's catching catfish with your hands out of holes). We can't wait to go back!
The owners are some of the nicest people we have met. Very secluded and peaceful. Also GREAT fishing!
A small group of my friends stayed overnight in the tent area. The owners were very friendly, and showed us to the tent area. Bath house was very clean and up to date. Firewood was $10 a wheel barrel, all hard wood, we couldn’t even burn it all.
Sometime you just luck out. We chose this campground because of its location on our route and the time of our arrival in the area. After following the map directions we arrived at a marvelous campground and was greeted by one of the owner /operators who showed us to our site and the washrooms as well as the most recently constructed cabin which he had proudly built. This campsite IS THE BEST THAI WE HAVE EVER STAYED. The washrooms are immaculate and appointed better than many motels that we have stayed in. The sites are well gravelled and level. The picnic table was new, the fireplace was ready to go firewood was plentiful and inexpensive. Unfortunately our visit was only overnight due to our schedule and marred by unseasonably cool weather. We would have stayed several days if we could have. Treat yourself and stay here. Highly, highly recommended. Great hosts, great facilities.
We have stayed here twice now! Once was in a cabin and another time was with our camper! Both of our experiences were really great, from the time we called to reserve our stay to the time that we arrived and left and the time in between! They are helpful with finding your spot that your staying, making sure that you have everything that you need, finding good places to eat, fun things to do around or close by and ensuring that your stay is as home feeling as it can be! We love coming here and know that everyone else will as well! Only 15 minutes down the road are some of the best areas to see the Elk as well in Karhaust or you can drive about 20 minutes and find good places to eat or stop in and play at Fun Central! Whatever time of year there is something cool to do or just hang at your camping place and enjoy the surroundings!
What a great experience. Super clean cabins and bathrooms. Terrific customer service.
Thank you
