Le Jeune Chef Restaurant reviews
14 When you know the story behind this place, it makes everything taste even better. There's something to be said about the ambiance, the quality of food, the quality of the staff, and just, overall experience.
The price of lunch and even dinner is beyond a bargain. It's downright incredible. I've been twice with work partners and each time we walk away impressed.
Students working at the restaurant need to get a ton of credit. They do so well, and work so hard! It's truly incredible.
You need to visit with an appetite and save room for desert. I almost never get deserts when I visit restaurants, but this is one place that has routinely surprised me. I expect to go more often!
Very good experience. Definitely worth a visit. Food was very good and the wait staff very attentive.
I had the pleasure of working at LJC while being a student at Penn College in the Culinary Arts Associates Degree program. It was one of the best experiences of my life. That was in 1999-2000.23 years, later I still enjoy returning from time to time. The last time I was there was a few years ago on my wedding anniversary. As was in the past, nothing disappoints. From the wait staff to the students/chefs, everything was on point. Hopefully I can make it back again soon.
I've gone to this restaurant for about 4 years straight every chance I get. The food is amazing. Staff is absolutely fantastic. My favorite is their steak and the chocolate soup!
This is an amazing restaurant. The staff is so nice I went here for my birthday and they gave me a cupcake on a plate that they had written in chocolate happy birthday. The food is sooooo good. I got the chocolate soup the cupcake they gave me and the homestyle burger.
Lovely hotel style environment. The food was absolutely delicious. It was a seafood dinner, and offered 4 shellfish, 3 fish dishes, 2 starches, and 3 vegetables. And the dessert was a table of choices. Of course there were soup, salad, & bread, a comprehensive wine list; and a wonderful appetizer. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. An quite a number of them were the Culinary school students. The food was plentiful and hot, served in a beautiful hotel-style buffet in chafing dishes.
Full disclosure: Penn College is my Alma Mater, so I will fully admit a little bias with my review!
In all seriousness, if you have the opportunity to dine at Le Jeune Chef, you will not be disappointed. Culinary excellence is a good description. World class may sound like a bit of a stretch, but many Graduates have gone on to achieve international recognition for their skills in the kitchen.
Great food, great service, great time.
I would give this place 6 stars if I could. From the minute you walk in; efficient, friendly service in a beautiful setting, lovely tables and decor. There was a small bread basket with butter. It was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle and they tasted just like fresh baked bread smells. My daughter and I ordered Truffle Fries and the Onion Flatbread as appetizers. The fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned, the Flatbread was alternately soft and crispy with a heavenly flavor of freshness with a sweet finish. We both had the Smashburger. Good lord! Two patties cooked well with crispy edges, caramelized onions, bacon cooked to the perfect crispness, cheese and burger sauce. Yum! With our burgers I ordered the roasted brussel sprouts with mine. These buttery brussel sprouts literally melted in my mouth. My daughter ordered the Mac and Cheese. I can't comment on that because she would only share the tiniest little bite with me. For dessert to go my daughter ordered the chocolate soup and I took home chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Both met our expectations set by the fabulous meal.
We ate at the prime rib buffet last night. The beef was roasted rare, and melted in my mouth. They offered wonderful sides and appetizers. They had a whole table of desserts served in small portions so that you could try several of them. As discussed in previous reviews I’m particular about my Bloody Mary I’m still pretty sure I make the best in Williamsport But I think I speak for our table of four that the food and service were five star.
This place was freaking awesome! The steak is perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were amazing! Typically when you try a new place you're prepared for anything. I was not prepared to be blown away at how great the food was and how amazing the staff was!
Hands down one of my favorite places to eat, ever. We've eaten here a hundred times, it seems. No complaints; food is absolutely to die for, the service and atmosphere make you feel like you're in a Michelin restaurant in a city. They have seasonal menus, plus regional menus (like Brittany, Tuscany, etc), so you can truly never eat the same thing twice here.
Even when they do takeout during covid, it's amazing! The prices are insaaaanely good, plus, you're helping new chefs learn! It's seriously the best.
Wow! First time for Sunday brunch. Food and service excellent. Looking forward to our next visit!
The service is always excellent (although it sometimes feels like the staff are watching you at every moment). The food is literally EVERYTHING. I am SOSOSO picky, and I never leave disappointed with the food. I mean the chocolate soup is heaven!
Upscale dining experience, high quality food, friendly and attentive service, impressive wine list, and reasonable prices.
