Never open as it was before. I remember bringing my children here to enjoy it at Christmas. If you don't want to open it then sell to someone who does. I would be interested in purchasing and restoring it to it's once fantastic state

Don't waste your money. Not worth the money or time had nothing to do with Lincoln funeral train. I don't know what that was? Had a consignment shop in the front lobby? Zero educational value. Forgot to mention half the train layouts don't work clearly somebody trying to make a quick buck with minimal effort.

Very informative and excellent collection of model trains. Just don't get yourself psyched up for a huge museum.

The Lincoln Train Museum is a must see stop on any visit to Gettysburg, PA. The town is steeped in historical significance thanks to those who "gave their last full measure of devotion" fighting for and against Lincoln's great hope and dreams for America that he honored with his Gettysburg Address in 1863. Owner John Fine gives entertaining, educational and very fitting tribute presentations especially for children, young and old! The displays of Lincoln's life and death, the Civil War uniforms, relics and other historical treasures are a journey into a past we all share, a past that speaks to us even today and tomorrow for those who will hear and listen. The model trains depicting Lincoln's time and travels are magical. The virtual train ride transports guests as well or better than any movie. I would suggest that Mr Fine consider revising the video portions of the History Hall and Train "Ride" using his own voice, personality and Lincoln-like demeanor! You cannot pass the gift shop without getting a souvenir for a child, a friend a grandma or grandpa.
I only hope Mr Fine recruits some local college student history majors or post grads or volunteer docents who can help with the grueling schedule this lone ranger owner/operator maintains in the summer season! This historic treasure is worthy of year round exhibit!

This is a must see for all ages. Owner is knowledgeable and friendly. Trains, Lincoln and war history combined in one place. Very cool, loved it and will go back again during my next visit to Gburg!

This is a nice place with a unique gift shop. It has several train layouts that are cool. They have many older O and S gage trains on display that are excellent. Why 2 stars? I think in the current political times it is incumbent that museums are not partial politically. The Lincoln train ride started off really good than clearly moved to message for folks to the right. I did not expect that. That's fine for many places but not Gettysburg. The owner seemed nice.

John was very accommodating and had a lot to show. Gift shop and museum wise. The Lincoln train museum was so cool and John made it even better with his tid bits of info. Not just about his artifacts he had on display, but also surrounding area “things to do” we appreciated the experience and think everyone should make this a destination stop while in Gettysburg for sure.

We attempted to visit the museum on Sunday, 7/10 at 12: 45pm. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman walking out of the museum telling us it was closed. I asked him if the website hours were wrong as it was listed to be open from 10am - 2pm. He said we needed to come 5-10 mins earlier and we would have made it on the last ride. We are disappointed by this experience as we drove from the Baltimore area with our toddler who loves trains. We came to Gettysburg just to see the museum only to find out they were closed early and unable to accommodate us.

My son Riley had a great time. The owner was very interactive and encouraged my son to play around and touch what could be played with. His passion for the museum was evident also very economical for Gettysburg and as advertised.

We enjoyed our visit here in August 2021. Lots of quirky but interesting treasures from years past. If you are looking for a gift that is unusual and different, visit this gift store. The train artifacts and ride was fun. I was a little disappointed that this store is temporary closed during our current Gettysburg visit 04/03/22

This is not a museum. When you enter the place, you are greeted with a "gift shop" full of junk and cheap souvenirs from two decades ago. I then purchased my ticket and entered the hallway where a corny video played about Lincoln and how star spangled awesome the United States is. After a good 5 minutes listening to the video and admiring the Ken doll mock up of 9/11 I finally entered the main room. At this point the owner came in and told me I should ring the train bells. I then noticed that he was not wearing any socks or shoes, which was.odd. I then meandered around the small room looking at all of the junk that has been accumulated. Honestly it looked like someone went to a flea market and bought anything vaguely history related. From Elvis to a terrifying mannequin of John Wilkes Booth to a bunch of model trains, this place has it all. Several of the buttons that are supposed to operate the model trains do not work and I doubt that he cares enough to fix them. After probably a half hour staring at Gone with the Wind commemorative plates the owner reentered and told me to get on the train. The train ride really is an experience unlike any other. You enter this room meant to look like a train and it shakes around a bit as a movie of Abe Lincoln's ghost plays. I noticed that the screens in the windows showing the "outside" were all playing the same footage at the same time, ruining any illusion of movement. Abe's fervently patriotic speech ends by playing "I'm Proud to be and American" while showing clips of a guy riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle among other things. I cannot believe I payed 10 dollars to peruse some guy's semi-historical junk collection. Oh and I almost forgot. I was literally the only customer there. Please heed my advice and never go here. Unless of course, you need a good laugh.

Loved all the trains and great stuff to look at. The train ride with the introduction was interesting and a blast to be on. Love this country was the theme!

Was finally able to get in to this place after years of just missing the season. Beautiful collection of all sorts in the museum and a truly unique experience in the train ride.

This place was definitely a historians paradise. I just wish people could have treated the owner better.

Took my son here, person working told me because of his age he would be cheaper I paid 17.00 for him and I. 9.00 for me and 8.00 for him. He is 2. That's ridiculous. We were also told that once we come out of the museum and the train ride that we would get some kind of token to look at something else, we walked out of the museum and got nothing except have a good day. My mother even said out loud I thought we were supposed to get a coin or something person working just said have a good day. I've been here numerous times and the videos were not informative about Lincoln or Gettysburg it was just about how great America is. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place ro anyone who wants to learn about Gettysburg. Go to the battlefield and other stores where they can give e you actual information. Needless to say we won't be back. Very disappointed.

Had a blast! Would recommend! While it's a "train museum", the owner makes sure you're entertained during the museum tour. Granted its just a room FULL of trains and other various items, all with a story, but the owner tells some interesting stories and keeps you engaged.

We contemplated whether or not to come in but, we were so glad we did. The train memorabilia was great. The ride with Lincoln made me tear up. Thats a good thing! I'm very patriotic! My brother who loves trains was very happy as well. The guys that work there were very informative! Thanks for a great memory!

An interesting odd collection the owner has acquired over the years. The train ride was not very informative, pretty boring for kids, also super cringy (like you want to die) and has NOTHING to do with TRAINS? ! The gift shop was practically a thrift store filled with junk. Not worth the price even the owner was pretty friendly but.he wasn’t wearing any shoes at all.he was giving us a “tour” BAREFOOT. Nice.
