Cottage Loch Highlands reviews
5My family has been coming to Loch Highland for close to 10+ years. In our opinion, it is a hidden gem. The cottages are comfortable yet rustic and always very clean. Kristen, who now manages the property, is so friendly and always a pleasure to deal with. The property is very unique to the properties situated on the lake in that it has wide grounds for the kids to run around. They have a playground, 2 dock areas, a fire pit (with supplied wood). This is one of our favorite places to visit and they the staff at Loch Highlands always treat us like family. Thank you for the lasting memories.
Pre-covid, I was travelling up to 50,000 mi/yr, domestically and internationally, and I must say that our stay at Loch Highlands was in the top 10% of travel deals out there. Unlike many of the sets of cottages around Lake Wallenpaupack, this one is set down from the main road, with a smaller road and trees in between, and as a result is very quiet. We were there off-season, in Oct, and the leaves were at their peak, with perfect hiking weather. Much attention had been given to making sure we had what was needed for a pleasant stay. The whole experience was no-hassle, and very relaxing.
This was our third year spending our vacation at Loch Highlands and as always it was a wonderful experience! Kristin is always helpful, informative and thoughtful. She truly goes above and beyond to make her guest feel welcome and have an enjoyable experience. The cabins are exactly what you would expect for a rustic lakeside cabin. The views are gorgeous and grounds are very well kept. There is a boat dock and a swim dock, both of which we have used in our years there. If you are bringing a boat, there is a public ramp about 12 min away but if you are looking for a closer ramp, Seeleys is just 6 min away and costs $10. The cabins are always very clean and neat and include kitchen utensils and cookware. We always bring a few things from home (just in case). There is a campfire pit with wood, great for smores. There is also a swingset and tetherball for the kids. This has become our family's tradition and we look forward to coming again next year!
Cottages are very clean and cozy. Best experience on Lake Wallenpaupack. The views are amazing and the sunsets are breathtaking!
Just for back from our first trip here and it definitely will not be our last! The cabin was so much more than we expected! We were in cabin 6 which was surrounded by trees so it wasn't very hot! Wonderful fire pit and amazing swim and fishing docks! (the kids had great luck catching fish here!) My 2,7 and 16 year old had a blast! Very well maintained, private and quiet! See you next year!
