LoKal Experiences, Lancaster PA

Our tour guide, Mike, was also the owner of Lokal Experiences. Our tour was scheduled on a very cold December day, which made us almost not attend. My wife and I were both very happy that we went ahead with the tour, as it was likely our single-best overall experience during our stay. Mike was very knowledgeable and made the tour both informative but also relaxed. It's clear he is proud of Lancaster and its role in our nation's history, and we walked away (literally) with a whole new perspective and awareness. Well done, and highly recommended.

The tour was great. Mike was super informative and kept all of interested, including our teenage kids. It was interesting to see different parts of Lancaster - the city and the farm life. We had a lot of fun.

We had a great time on the tour and lunch with Martha. Guide was super informative, friendly, and made the tour everything we hoped it would be. Little Stormy (miniature pony) was icing on the cake.

This was a wonderful experience. We learned alot about the Amish culture and meet a wonderful Amish lady named Martha. She was a delightful host and gave us the most delicious food. The beef and carrots were so moist and very YUMMY. I would advise anyone that is curious about these wonderful people to do this tour with a meal. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the culture and surrounding. He kept us very interested in our tour. Thanks for the wonderful time and meal.

Took the Sweet & Savory tour with Mike in Lancaster, PA. Mike is a fantastic tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and would give suggestions on what to try and which olive oil/balsamic vinegar to mix! We learned a lot about the history of Lancaster in addition to everything we ate!

My husband took me on the luncheon tour as a birthday gift this past October. We were so impressed that when friends from California came to visit six weeks later we contacted LoKal and booked all of us on the same trip. It was a lovely, informative, comfortable and entertaining use of an afternoon. Our guide, Dale, was exceptionally personable, easy to hear and knowledgable. Our Amish lunch hostess was warm and welcoming and our meal was plentiful and delicious. Thanks to everyone at LoKal for offering such an unforgettable experience.

Our guide was professional and courteous, learned about the Amish, and enjoyed a wonderful meal at their home.

For questions or interaction. Wished there would have been the buggy ride and more shopping and see some of the Amish woodwork. Family was nice, food was good, and the children were too cute and polite:) pricy for ride to a home eat and leave

Had a super great day today! Learned a lot about how the Amish and their way of living. I have a lot of respect for how they take care of each other and stay true to what they believe. They are an example for all of us of what is possible when we put community first.

We had Dale as our tour guide and he was awesome.a wealth of information! Mary had an absolutely delicious meal ready for us and it was a delight to meet her and 2 of her children. We are looking at booking the Amish Immersion Tour for June 2024 as soon as those dates are available! Highly recommend this tour!

Thought there would be stops to a farm to see animals, how butter is made by the amish but instead it was just a few facts about the area we were passing on the way to an Amish family home to eat lunch the wife made food was good but not enough of the culture for the price pp.

What an amazing tour! I lived in Lancaster for 6 years and had no idea of the rich history of this city. Our tour guide Mike was incredible! I highly recommend this tour to both residents and visitors.

Tour operator very knowledgeable; combined history with humor. Sites selected fit the theme well and we had the best ice cream ever! Ride was comfy and we ever went home and watched the movie Witness!

We visited 3 Amish farms and learned a great deal from our guide and driver en route. Very condensed outing. Highly recommended to anyone curious about Amish life but has little time to explore the area.

The tour was quite an experience. The tour guide Mike provided extensive background historically and up to date information on the Amish culture. The van ride was comfortable and use of blue tooth communication with ear pods provided thorough communication throughout the tour. The icecream stop at an Amish homestead was the cherry on top! Best icecream I ever tasted and the cost was included. The tour was engaging, respectful and provided a perspective into the Amish way of life that I was not aware of and left me with a broader insight into the Amish community. Highly recommended.

We were very happy with this tour. We got a nice drive through the Amish farmland with interesting narrative by the driver/guide. Being able to visit with the Amish host family made this a real cultural experience. Our hosts were gracious and friendly, and there was plenty of wholesome food. Especially impressive was the fresh pressed cider made with apples from the family’s own tree. We were able to see the family buggies, horses, and mules. Pickles and other homemade goods were for sale. Probably the least commercial of the available tours.
