Los Sarapes Chalfont

The atmosphere here is usually welcoming and comfortable. The food is only average. Several times I have had meals here that are overcooked, with the last meal being the mole and the chicken so dry, one could easily choke on it. Someone in my party had a smoked cherry margarita and it asked as though liquid smoke was poured into the drink rather than the cherries actually being roasted or smoked. Prices are too high for these shortcuts.also, there should be more.vegetables offered for entrees, rather than the same, tired refried beans and rice.

The service was OK. The flatbread was Dowie and the fish tacos were breaded, which was disappointing for the price. It was a three.

Always a fun and welcoming vibe. Great, authentic food, delicious drinks, and quality service. You get what you pay for and they always deliver. They care about their customers. The owner is very friendly, makes the effort to get to know his patrons and makes sure they are happy and satisfied. Great for a date night or a meet-up with friends.

My absolute favorite place of all time! Absolutely never disappoints! I work in the industry, it is THE ONLY place I EVER go to. I don’t even bother to dine anywhere else. Absolutely the best!

Love this place but had the weirdest experience tonight. My husband and I had dinner and drinks, and our friend met us here a little later. We had each already had 3 drinks by the time our friend arrived at 7: 10.he had 1 margarita, and then 1 beer in a span of 65 minutes……. And was flagged when he went to have another drink. We were sitting at the bar and having conversation, nothing offensive, and we were not being loud at all. My husband and I had full, new cocktails and our friend was only given water. I am half the size of our friend who was flagged, yet no one batted an eye at me ordering 3 straight vodka drinks prior to his arrival. We were planning on staying here all night and catching up, as we love supporting our local Chalfont businesses, but were basically forced to get the bill. Our friend is in education and we were discussing his class curriculum, which involved LGBTQ topics and the holocaust…don’t know if that had anything to do with it, but I sure hope not. Won’t be back, as we aren’t interested in going to a tequila bar where you’re not allowed to order more than 2 drinks at the bar…one being a corona. Otherwise, the food is great and we’ve been coming here for years, but we won’t be back after this. **mind you, we have watched a 70-year-old woman pee her pants and have to be carried off the patio here on cinco de mayo**, yet our 200 pound friend was not allowed to have a 3rd drink. Something’s not right here.

Stop in for quick lunch break. Best smooth margarita I’ve ever had! Delicious guacamole and chicken, Avacado tortilla soup. So upset I haven’t visited this place sooner.

Excellent fish tacos. Chips were too hard and not crispy. Service is great. Love the guacamole

The food and service were outstanding as usual. The blood orange margarita is one of the best I've had anywhere. Highly highly recommend!

Went to dinner last evening for our 20th anniversary. We haven't been there for a while and was anxious to go. We had the fajitas. The food was ok but lacked flavor. It seemed as though someone forgot to season the meat. Everything was bland. The menu was pared down so much they took the best things off. Now it's just run of the mill food. They didn't even offer dessert or coffee. Just assumed we were done and brought the check. We were in and out in about 1 hr. The atmosphere was not what it used to be. It was very cold feeling. It felt like I was sitting under a spot light which I kind of was. It used to be dimly lit, romantic, welcoming and had some charm and intimacy with authentic Mexican music playing. Not so last night. So very disappointed.

Had an early dinner with hubby.it was our second time eating at Sarapes. The food and service has been good for us, the decor at this place is cool.

We had a family dinner here for my youngest brother. The staff was awesome & the food even better. From the drinks, to the appetizers & finally the entrees, every dish was enjoyed. Only thing I missed was the posole which I personally love but would recommend this restaurant or their location in Horsham. Definitely will be returning in the future.

Response to Owner: I am well aware of price increases everywhere, but quality of your food and portions do not merit exorbitant prices you charge. Sorry. Unless your establishment improve in both counts, no dice from me or recommendtions.

Original Review: Way way overhyped! Not sure why people have endorsed this place with 4 or 5 stars. Maybe they were impressed with "ambiance. " Place was decorated nicely with Mexican theme, but the food and prices does not warrant such high scores.

They dont even provide tortillas when you sit down. (We discovered that they charged extra for this). And what kind of Mexican restaurant DOES NOT have hot sauces, ie) no Tabasco sauce? Are are U kidding me?

And their menus are impossible to read as the menu font sizes are micro-small and no one could read this without magnifying glasses. If I have to guess, the size was like 4 point font. A joke.

Food was lackluster at best. I had better Enchiladas elsewhere. My enchiladas had barely any cheese and my plate was just barely luke warm.

Oversll, for the money spent, I would go to other Mexican establishment next time. I am definitely NOT recommending this place at all. There are better Mexican eateries with better food and better prices.

Went here for the first time tonight. Everything was amazing. The entrees are expensive but worth it. Appetizers and drinks are decently priced. Our server was very friendly too. I can’t wait for the next time I get to come here.

Absolutely horrible service! We had a reservation here for today. GPS directed us to the wrong location (their second location in Horsham). When we realized this, called to inform them that we are 5 mins away. The guy who picked up the phone was very rude! He repeatedly yelled and kept cutting us off and cancelled our reservation. Will not recommend.

The person handling your calls is the face of your business to a potential customer. You need to educate him on how to talk before putting him in charge.
Disrespectful employees will only cause you more harm than good.

Absolutely horrible experience. Not realizing that they had multiple locations, my family and I went to the Horsham location instead of the Chalfont location. When I called to inform them that we are running a few mins behind due to this, the guy answering the phone literally yelled and got upset saying he’s going to charge $25 per person in penalty. I politely informed him that it was an honest mistake and he kept raising his voice, yelling. Will NEVER go here again. Absolutely rude and obnoxious.
