Lost River Caverns reviews
19 Fun! It's not a huge cavern, but it's neat. The tour is like 45 minutes or an hour. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and was happy to answer all kinds of questions our group had.
The gift shop actually has some interesting stuff. And the waiting area has quite a lot of eclectic displays. Fun!
Haven’t been here in about 30 years and stopped by on a whim today. Had a tour by Adam who was a great guide. Appreciated the dad jokes, super informative and very nice. This place is just as quirky as I remember!
What an exciting place! I have been to some caverns and this is one of the best. The staff is friendly. The tour guides were knowledgeable. The gift shop has plenty of things that are so Pennsylvania and the Nature Walk comes with some questions along your walk about the cave which is interactive.
Great place for a little day trip. We took the kids here and they both had a great time. The cave itself is very pretty and has a good amount of cool stuff to see. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. The gift shop was very reasonable with pricing.
Parking by the cave is limited but they do have an overflow lot across the street.
Great tour and gift shop, local and geographic history, great place for cut and polished precious gems as well.
My daughter and I had so much fun at Lost River Caverns. Our tour guide was the best. He definitely made it more interesting. Thanks for taking photos for our group and those Little funny jokes.
Awesome place! Well worth the visit! Privately own and operated; which I think is really cool. Friendly staff and owners. Go! Do it! Worth it!
Cave was pretty neat. Gift shop was nice with a bunch of rock stuff to buy that wasn't expensive. Bring a sweatshirt though, its cold in the cave.
Had a great time my 2 year old daughter also lived it I do recommend that you bring a light jacket
It was truly an incredible experience to enter that cavern and see the stream below. It is incredible what nature hides between the rocks. Very nice experience. Visit it.
This place was a lot of fun! Our tour guide was hilarious! It was very informative, and I really enjoyed the rocks that glowed in the dark. My kids had a blast.
Had a five hour ride from the finger lake region back to New Jersey and was looking for a detour on the way. Landed on this cavern tour for a bit of a rest stop and while it was basically like my own little slice of hell as far as the group I ended up with. (Multiple screaming and unruly toddlers throwing temper tantrums [I should have known better than to stop somewhere like this on a Sunday afternoon of a holiday weekend no less. ]) HOWEVER the saving grace was the tour guide Cora (or maybe Kora) I never got the spelling. She was great and kept control of the tour and managed to keep herself insanely composed and still give the entire tour. One of the goals was to learn something and I can say that I learned quite a few things that were rather interesting. Love hiking and climbing so wanted it to be a quick outdoorsy activity but am rather claustrophobic so the idea of spelunking makes me uneasy enough to stick to the guided tours for now. I’ll try and make it a detour again at a less popular time and get a more calm experience, fingers crossed I get the same tour guide!
Would recommend to anyone looking to kill an hour or so and learn a few things.
Such a great place for a little day trip. We hiked the small trail, did the gem mining and perused the gift shop before our tour. Everyone was extremely friendly. The tour with great and our tour guide was entertaining and engaging. The location is wonderful with some nice places to grab lunch afterwards.
Amazing cave, this was a great experience! Adam was an awesome tour guide! Me and my husband loved his jokes! And bonus points for being very patient with our 8 year old son
We had a great time! Very informational and our Tourguide was great! He was knowledgeable and very personable!
A cool cave, the tour guide was knowledgeable and interesting. It’s a 30 minute experience not super long but a fun stop if you’re in the area.
I've been to other caverns that were more stalagtites and stalagmites but this was interesting and it's the first time my grandchildren had went to one so they thought it was great
We just left our tour and had Cora (hope I spelled it right) as our guide and had a great time. She is knowledgeable and relatable. It’s nice and cool in the cave so make sure to wear layers to stay warm.
Great little place. Not a great place for little kids as they don’t want anyone touching the walls and with a very narrow path, kids kept doing it by mistake or curiosity.
