Lumberjaxes Axe Throwing Pittsburgh Mt. Lebanon

Our instructor was great. I actually forgot his name. He had us choose our ax throwing names. We were there celebrating birthdays and he took the time to explain what we were doing wrong. He was great with our daughter. By the end she was throwing bullseye. Highly recommend

Our team had the best experience at the Mt Lebanon location, largely in part to our awesome coach/instructor Mike. He was fun, personable, encouraging and so helpful. He made us feel like we were pros! 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a fun event and something different to do for a night out.

Staff is very helpful and down to earth. Training with "Slick" helped out our accuracy. Music was fantastic the whole time (90s Rock and Alternative for that night.) Perfect for parties or date night. BYOB

In these times, it allows a comfortable distance from other groups & we will be back again with more inductees!

We had a 30th bday celebration and had so much fun! A little glitch with payments but that was taken care of quickly! Curry was fun and very helpful for the group of us that were first timers! Would definitely do it again!

My husband & I went to Lumberjaxes Axe Throwing for date night & had a great time! The instructor was very helpful, patient & did everything he could (various axes: weight wise) to give us pointers & help us get an axe into the wood. The atmosphere was upbeat & the building was very clean (restrooms included). Will definitely be back when we are in the Pittsburgh area again.

I went in with my girlfriend and a friend, we were warmly greeted and promptly went over safety rules. Berge “Ironside” was an amazing coach and helped us every step of the way. He was very attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely seemed to enjoy helping us and chatting. It was an amazing experience! Bring your friends, beer and be prepared for lots of fun.

My fiance and I went after our visit to our wedding venue and did the open throw for an hour and a half. It was a great environment. BYOB but judging the environment and professionalism of the staff you wouldn't even know that anyone was drinking. They have several different coaches that show you how to bury the hatchet and hang around to talk and encourage proper technique. We personally had Lauren and she was nothing short of amazing. Hard working woman and just a sweet and gentle soul. We loved her and would suggest you ask for her or any of them seemed over the top kind and very knowledgeable. Will certainly be visiting again!

A very nice experience. They were very accomadating, and very thorough with thwir explanations. The employees helped walk me and my friends through proper tossing techniques aswell, making it much easier to get into it and enjoy. Definitely would want to go again

It was great! The place had plenty of parking. It was clean, well air conditioned, with good music playing. Our axe man Cutty was so fun and chill. Knowledgeable, friendly, good sense of humor and a great coach. Nuff respect. Next time we’re in town we’ll do it again!

Worth the money for the duration.

I think that Matt was our coach. Super friendly and chill guy. He knew how to throw and helped us to improve as first time axe throwers. As a sports and athletics coach myself, I know that 'less is more' when you coach someone who has never attempted something before. Matt was exactly what we needed for our party of 4 people.

10/10 would recommend him, and the location again!

Had a blast there and our host was Jason and he was awesome! He was very friendly and super helpful! My son is super shy and didn’t want to throw the ax but Jason even got him to get up and throw and my son got a bullseye. Haven’t seen him smile so happy like that in a while. Definitely will be coming back! ️

So I’m here visiting Pittsburg and we wanted to try to find something to do. Most everything was closed so me and my friend decided we’d try axe throwing as they were still open (thank god). Just FYI you need close toed shoes, I didn’t know that so I had to borrow my guy friend’s shoes.

Anyways, we got an hour and a half which is basically the perfect amount of time. Our coach was Jason and he was so fun to hang out with. He really helped us out but then he made our experience really fun! The games were awesome and I found out I had a secret talent at axe throwing.

If you’ve never done this I highly recommend it and our coach!

Greet fun, they provide a guide to help you learn to throw which made it much more fun. Very knowledgeable about axe throwing and great staff, highly recommend coming with a large family or group very good value

We had a party of six for 2 hours and none of us had ever none it before. We ranged from 17 to 67 and we all had a blast. Our instructor, Cutty, was funny, respectful, encouraging, and we felt like he was part of our family. We loved how the place was clean and they respected capacity and social distancing. We had two minors that could not participate but we love that they were able to enjoy in the day and cheer us on. We were worried about safety prior to getting there and instantly that fear was relieved because of their precautions taken. Can't wait to go do it again!

Love that this place is 2 mins from my house! Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was my first friday night out since Covid-19 started and we had a blast! You can byob and there is also a touch tunes which was great! It felt normal being out again. We will definitely be back!

This was my second time going to Lumberjaxes Axe throwing, the first time at this location. We had a nice time, but I was disappointed in the service. As we were getting our instruction for our session, some other people came in and our coach had to go check them in. After he checked them in, he started coaching them. And then another group showed up, and the same thing happened again. I think you get my drift. They seemed under staffed, with one coach checking people and supposedly coaching, while the other coach never left the side of the group next to us. Why was one coach handling multiple duties and groups, while the other coach only spoke to one group? Bottom line - I didn't need them to be by our side the whole time, but some dedicated instruction or coaching at the beginning for 10 or 15 minutes would have been nice.

We had a wonderful time! We had all ages there and our instructor Cutty was amazing with all of us. He gave us tips since we were all first timers and helped facilitate the games. Definitely recommend and would go back again!

Ok yea, this was super fun! See if you can get Clayton! Clayton is so friendly, professional, and encouraging. He doesn’t make you feel like an idiot if you throw the axe into the rafters your first time:)

It was our first time trying this. So much fun! Our guy that helped us, Nathan or Nate, was the absolute BEST! We had a blast and will definitely be coming back! They really teach, and help you out as much as they can! Definitely recommend this place for a fun night out!
