Best Mexican food in PA. PERIOD. You can't go wrong with anything there, but I loved the carnita (pork) tacos, and if pork isn't for you, the quesabirria tacos with the consume (even though they cost extra) was amazing. They also have a large selection of sauces to make your tacos as spicy as you want.

Believe the hype. Was surprised about it being attached to a gas station. But the food is phenomenal.

This place is the definition of "dive, " and I love it. The prices are good, and the food is authentic and excellent. Don't be fooled by the gas station. It's worth the trip outside the town.

I was amazed at this restaurant! I've been looking for affordable, authentic Mexican food in this city for, like, two years. The carnitas, chicken tacos, and flautas were very delicious. It was so delicious, I ordered takeout before I left. Thanks, Lupita!

Delicious! I had a chicken and a cheese empanada. The chicken was out of this world. The cheese one was not my favorite because I was hoping for an gooey center it was firm. However It was still tasty I just know not order a cheese one again! Tacos here are amazing!

Seriously some of the greatest authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had, definitely a hole in the wall kind of place, must try if you’re in the area craving authentic Mexican!

Truly the best tasting Mexican food in this area. This branch is the better of the two as well.

This place surpassed my expectations! Amazing spot that nails traditional Mexican food. A must try if you know what’s good when it comes to the food from down unda’

Very friendly upon arrival. We ordered $60 of food - 2 beef tostadas, 3 empanadas (2 beef, 1 chicken), 2 chicken flautas, 2 tacos (1 beef, 1 pork), 2 churros. (Also a slice of tres leches and soda from their fridge.) The cashier rang us up, and handed us our receipt. The receipt lists out the item purchased, but does not itemize the *type* of item. (Read 3 tacos, not 1 chicken taco, 1 cheese taco, 1 beef taco, etc.) The chef handed us our boxed items, and we went back to the car. As we opened the boxes in the parking lot, checked our items. We realized that out of the 11 prepared items we ordered, we were missing just one - a beef tostada. We went back in to let them know we were missing an item. The cashier met us with an abrupt “No you’re not, I watched her put it in the box. ” We said we would go back to the car and bring in the 3 bags to show them that one item was missing, and he said “No I’ll just give you a free one” with arrogant sarcasm. We had no problem spending $60, so I’m not quite sure what we gain by lying about one missing $3 item out of 11 requested items. Ultimately, the chef prepared and handed us the beef tostada. After we got back to the car the 2nd time, we bit into the empanadas (dough with meat which is sealed and fried) to distinguish between the 2 flavors (beef and chicken), only to find that we were given chicken and cheese instead, and were missing the beef altogether. Because of the first experience, we didn’t bother going in to complain. The receipt isn’t itemized so we aren’t able to prove the item we ordered, so we figured it was no use anyway.

Food is incredible, service is absolutely abysmal. That $3 cost the restaurant a repeated $60 order, as we eat locally very often.

Great tostada's really like the pork over the chicken but both are very good. Prices are extremely reasonable. Service is great with a fantastic salsa bar all homemade and attention to the details sets lupitas apart.

Best authentic Mexican food near state college. The staff are always polite and the food is amazing. They have a few locations and they are all great. I love to bring family and friends here when they visit; I have never been disappointed!

Lupitas has the best authentic Mexican food in the area. The takeout is plentiful, affordable and most importantly delicious. Many options to choose from, in addition to a variety of meat options (including lamb.)

They also have a good little variety of sauces to add on to your items as well, ranging from not-at-all hot, to *very* spicy. What's not to love?

Since November I wanted a reservation to celebrate a graduation. In January they made a reservation for me and I went today and it's closed. They sent me to another address. The worst disorganized service. I drove a long way. The should contact people to let them know.never again! Thanks for ruining my dinner celebration

Don't let the location fool you (it's inside a gas station convenience store) – Lupita's Authentic Mexican Food is the real deal! The tacos are just like the ones you'd find in Mexico, and we can't get enough of them. Their tres leches cake is a must-try, too. You won't be disappointed by this small but mighty spot for amazing Mexican cuisine in State College!

And while you're there, don't forget to grab some local farm milk and eggs from the convenience store.
