My experience is based on a recent visit to get an X-ray.

I was dreading this visit a little because I’ve had long waits for x-rays before at other medical facilities. When I called on Friday to find out if it’s appointment or walk-in (it’s walk-in, for x-rays anyway), I was even more concerned, thinking this could take hours. Considering I called another MLH facility (Broomall) earlier and was kept on hold for an hour and never called back, I was feeling pretty skeptical but decided it was probably safer to go to imaging in Newtown Square.

The experience was seamless! There is ample parking, and everyone was really nice, from the general facility receptionist who greeted me immediately to the x-Ray tech. The receptionists in the imaging facility were very friendly and efficient. Kevin was a stand-out—so polite and friendly, and we even were joking around a bit. From arrival to conclusion, it was less than 20 minutes—but there were about 15 other people in the waiting room, so I don’t know what they were waiting for and if their times differed. The experience was efficient but never felt rushed. Hoping I won’t need x-rays again soon, but if I do, there’s no question where I’ll be going.

Current X-ray hours as of 12/5/22 are:

Mon-Wed 8-5
Thurs-Fri 8-4: 30

I called to make an appointment to see a primary care physician as I've been looking for a doctor since I moved to Newtown Square 2 years ago. Was told that the first available appointment with a male doctor who was accepting new patients was going to be a year out. Funny how I receive Main Line Health brochures in the mail a few times a year touting the superiority and convenience of your network vs the other local companies.

We had an appointment but to check on was quick and efficient. They offered an online advanced check-in which really aided the process.

The level of care is pretty good here, but there are just not enough practitioners or staff at this location. It is infuriatingly difficult to get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. It is usual to have to wait two, three weeks (or more!) just to get seen. More than once, in fact, I have not even been able to get anyone on the phone.

Visited the Quest Diagnostics lab at this location in Dec 2019, as we had a medical appointment at another office within this complex, and the lab was therefore convenient. We did not know whether our insurance (BCBS of Illinois) was in network at this office, so we presented our insurance card to the receptionist, and asked. The receptionist took the card, looked it up, and responded we were covered, at which time we had the lab work done. In Feb of 2020, out of the blue, we received a bill from Quest for $231.10, the reason for which was that the office was out of network, despite what we were told. When we called Quest corporate offices to inquire and dispute, we were told it is our own responsibility to know our insurance and in-network providers. Whereas that is true, it's doubtful the average health insurance customer does not know off the top of their head every provider in their network. And I think it's entirely reasonable (and common) to ask the office in question, and expect an accurate answer. Especially when providing the insurance credentials (insurance card). Afterall, health insurance is a fundamental aspect of health care today. Health insurance is complicated enough. To not be able to get an accurate yes/no answer to a fundamental question of whether an office is in network or not, is ridiculous. It is incompetence, and thanks to that, we now have to pay $231.10 for a procedure which, given our coverage, should have been $0. Moral of this story is beware of Quest Diagnostics, not just at this location, but all offices. It was the corporate office who handed down the "it's your responsibility" cop-out and refused to take responsibility for their employee's error. This is unacceptable.

First time patient with Dr. Ewing this week. Very wonderful experience. She listened to all concerns and developed a plan of action immediately. My wife sees her as well and loves her. The facility it beautiful and brand new. I will be back and would recommend!

Main Line Health billing/Riddle Memorial Hospital billing should be ashamed of their customer service. They have lied to me every time I call about their policy on submitting correct claims. My insurer called MLH billing and only after that, did they submit a new claim. However, MLH submitted it incorrectly and now refuses to fix it. I am a medical provider in the area, long time Bryn Mawr resident and user of Main Line Health and I am horrified of the disgraceful MLH billing practices.
