I saw Dr. Edgel from 15-18 and she was horrendous. Instead of identifying my PCOS and hormone imbalance she shamed me when I suggested trying birth control. She also prescribed me an antidepressant and I had a terrible reaction to. When I called her office about the intense paranoia that was occurring she actually told me to keep taking the meds. Such a pompous self righteous attitude for someone with such a disregard about someones life.

Dr. Edgell is the best. She always takes her time and listens. She cares, that's rare these days.

Cant believe the amount of rudeness I got from the nurses. And I definitely didn’t appreciate being charged twice for a billing mistake they made. I personally find it a bit weird charging me the minute I come in for my appointment I scheduled a week ago (and having to wait in the waiting room for 30mins.there was only two people in the waiting room!) then them saying “oh yeah.you owe us this because we forgot to put on your bill and forgot to tell you that wasn’t included in you physical”. Also think its a bit unprofessional to make extra comments about things especially when you have idea how rude and hurtful it could be. I had told the nurse that was giving my P. P. D test I couldn't look because it made me nauseous. She decided to make an extra comment about how I basically need to get over it because of the career I told her I would be doing this year and acted as if I was being a complete inconvenience to her. The only nurse that was nice was the front desk lady Tammy. After I get everything I need in the next couple days I will no longer be returning due to the unprofessionalism I received.

Extremely poor front desk communication skills. How is it possible this place stays open? I will Never try contact them again to try and schedule appointment.

0 star if I can give just put me on hold for minutes and a different person answered and asked me the same question and hung up my call without saying anything. Good job, very good!

Dr.edgell is the best. Until seeing her, the doctors I have gone to do not seem to be concerned enough. A lot of doctors never take the time to really listen to your concerns, and do not thoroughly explain everything. They just want to rush as many thru as possible like on a conveyor belt. I have been seeing doctor Edgell for over 20 years, and will not go anywhere else. She always suggests testing that is helpful and necessary, but never pushy. The staff has always been very courtesy also.

Love Dr. Lance Joseph as a my Dr.but this place really has to work on prescription refills, it should not take 3-5 days to call a needed medication that I've been on for years for my condition to the pharmacy.

I am new to Mainline Medicall, and it saddens me to read such negative reviews.about a place I found to be so inviting. My wait time was short.my visit with the nurse was most comforting.and my visit with my Dr. Brett Scharf was wonderful. I would recommend this facility and Staff to anyone. People need to give and receive POSITIVE STROKES TODAY! Thank-you Dr. Brett Scharf for having such a wonderful staff. Linda Solar

My PCP left the practice and I was never notified until I went to make an appointment. Now they're telling me none of the 10 remaining doctors are accepting new patients.

Waiting 1/2 hour for a b-12 shot, I had an appt.this is nuts!

Ok, part B: Marlene the nurse called me and rescheduled the shot. These guys are way understaffed, but they do have some smart people there. Too bad they are treated that way. I am changing my attitude and comments. They'd get five stars if they were on time to begin with, but Marlene kept my business there. I was ready to leave.

Used to like the place. My husband is a patient, but for the past few months, every time we call we are on hold for 30-40 minutes. That is unacceptable for a dr. 's office.

Altoona is well known for bad medical treatment and this place is no exception. Where did most of these nurses and staff come from? Were they hired after being fired from the McDonald's in the parking lot?
Because I wouldn't hire one of them to work there. And what's with the ego? Look at the review that mentions the lady being mean. This stuff is true and yet they walk around like they are some kind of life savers. Hey nurse, go get me a coffee would ya, black, no sugar. But they make more than enough from the seniors on medicare they pack in so consider yourself screwed. They yelled at my wife while she was having an allergic reaction to their prescribed med and was then refused treatment for it. They wonder why mal-practice insurance is so high and want tax payers to foot the bill.well this place is an example of why. Flunk out of high school, have a few babies with no father, be too incompetent to work fast food.go get a good paying job at mainline and tell everyone what a life saving hero you are.

In July My blood pressure was extremely high. They phoned in a new medicine for me and I recorded my BP readings and phoned them in cause they were getting worse. When i called in for an appointment I was told to go to the ER because They were booking into August. I went to the ER and they ran tests and sent me home and said follow up with your dr. I called their office again and they told me we are booking into August. I said this is important and you are to have sick call time slots open. The lady again sternly said, "We are booking into August. " They put me in with a different dr than I usually see and he told me that i was to be taking both BP meds. I told him the nurse that called me said, "The dr phoned a new medicine in for you. " She never said I was to be taking 2 meds. He said, "Well there was either a miscommunication on our part or yours. " (Like he was blaming me cause doctors don't make mistakes). I was put on cholesterol medicine and had labs done as told and there was no change in my levels so they increased my medicine. I got cramps in my legs and called them and told them and they did nothing. They wanted me to have labs done again so I had them done again (wasting the ins.money), and of course the same results so they called me and said the dr will either increase your medicine or change it. They called me back and said the dr.wants you to increase the medicine. Well if they read my chart like they should have They would've seen I can't have it increased cause it caused leg cramps so instead of changing the medicine here I am again in the same situation. They use computers for charts then don't go back and read things to give the proper care they need.

I love my Dr and the staff there, it's a bit under staffed but they work their butts off. I've never had a better Dr than I do now!

Not happy at all. It took them 3 weeks to refill one prescription. I called several times and each time "oh we will push that along for you. ". After two weeks without a medication I actually need, I experienced all of the withdrawal effects and this still didn't speed up the process. Then i called and they said "oh that's been ready for a few days now, we called. " No they didn't. This has happened on more than one occasion as well. Also, I've called because of a double ear infection and all they said was to continue taking my drops and if it gets worse to call back.that's why I was calling because I was seen 3 days prior and still had no change. I don't usually leave reviews, but this is terrible. The people are nice, but they need to actually go through with what they say.
