Marathon Grill reviews
20Food is great! Service is super friendly and knowledgeable. It’s just pretty noisy so hard to have a conversation.
Casual yet pristine clean ambiance with well priced delicious food served by professional unified staff. Highly recommended.
Good food, easy, quick place to stop in for a bite to eat. Sat outside and enjoyed the city sidewalk traffic. Had the perogies which were very good, the cheesesteak wonton were. 'meh'.
We went to Marathon Grill after a long day at a conference in Philly.
The guy who seated us was very nice. The waiter came to our table and he had a "What do you want" sort of attitude. He probably wanted to go home, which is understandable, but he wasn't very helpful especially at first. A few jokes and he loosened up.
The food was pretty good, but nothing to do a handstand over.
Marathon is excellent. Honestly a great restaurant to take a mixed group with various food needs. Going to dinner with a vegan, a carnivore, and someone who's gluten free? Take them to Marathon! Have a picky eater, someone who wants a sandwich, and someone who wants a massive salad? Again, Marathon. Food quality is great, service is totally fine if not exceptional, and the space has a ton of seating options.
This place had their stuff together! With so many people, they did a great job seating and serving. Food was great, too. Moroccan meatballs were delicious, and of course due to the Eagles, had to have a cheese steak.
Great spot. I was there recently and thoroughly enjoyed the drink selections as well as the food. Our server was very friendly. Vibe was also a nice mix of laid back but professional and classy at the same time. I would highly recommend.
Always really good when I come, no matter the size of my party. Solidly good food and good service. I especially enjoy an early solo breakfast here.
Crowded, noisy, great service. Diverse menu with reasonable prices. A great place for a quick lunch or a lingering lunch.
I've had brunch and salad, both were very good. Salad came with chicken and it was an entire breast. Prices are very reasonable.
Super good food. I used to work here. There management is very focused on quality. I can't believe how good the food is and was when I worked here. Would eat here everyday. The only thing is the tables are small and close together which makes it feel a lack of privacy when eating.
The food is usually good but I've had a few bad meals lately. The staff always seems a bit harried. Recently found out about a racially motivated incident at the other center City location and that has tarnished my experience
I love to go to new restaurants as often as I can especially on trips, but I came back here 3 times over 2 weeks on a long trip to Philly! Awesome drinks (Bulleit Rye Manhattan) but the food was fresh and delicious served by attentive and informed waitstaff.
My boyfriend and I came to eat before Christmas (12/21/17). The food was okay, nothing outstanding, but we were hungry and it filled us up. My main reason for the 2 stars was the fact that the restaurant had issues with rats, particularly in the main dining area. I had felt something hit my feet a few times and when I looked on the floor to see what it was, we saw rats scurrying away. I took a few videos to show the waitress and she apologized and acknowledged they had a rat issue.
Food was good, but yeah, a little slow. Just make sure you aren't pressed for time and you'll have a great experience
It's okay but nothing special, especially considering how many great restaurants there are within five blocks
One of my favorite resteraunts in Philly! Farm to table, large menu, excellent specials and house wine for $6. You can't beat it.
Outstanding food. Great service! Casual atmosphere. Meatloaf was awesome. The vegetarian chili was great and I don't like veggie.
The food was ok.however I lost my appetite watching the staff walking by our table dragging trash and mystery liquid in a bucket to the dumpster.
Loved Marathon Grill. During a recent visit to Philadelphia, we had dinner there because it was close to our hotel and it was late, so we didn't feel like venturing too far. We liked it so much we returned for breakfast the next morning and dinner again the next evening. It has something for everyone - fantastic food, craft beers on draft, good cocktails, smoothies, friendly and efficient service. Nice, casual vibe with great street views. The Southwest Salad was one of the best salads I've ever had - greens that tasted like they were right out of the garden, a delicious lime/cilantro vinaigrette, avocado, corn and more. And they make a great Moscow mule. Great experience all around.
