My husband was referred here from his family doctor he was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and was having an Iritis flare up. A nurse from their office left him a voicemail stating the doctor looked over his file and she felt he did not need to be seen. Now I was immediately upset but it was whatever we will find someone else. Well a month later he is diagnosed with vasculitis and it is getting bad so I decided to call them because we are having a difficult time finding a doctor near here. I left 2 voice-mails never got a call back. I called again and pushed for current patients I explained how he was now diagnosed with vasculitis and he needs to be seen asap as it is getting bad. The nurse stated the doctor would not reconsider after her mind is made up. I got very upset and explained why I was upset and she stated to try Indiana. I'm sorry but I thought this was a Rheumatoid Specialist I didn't know a doctor can just pick and choose her patients.

Dr Shaw is one of the best Drs I ever went to
She diagnosed me with WEGENERS GRAMULOTOTSIS 12 years ago if not for her I wouldn’t be here writing this to me she’s the Greatest Dr I ever had She’s very upfront with you so I’ll give her 10 stars!

I found Dr Shaw to be very arrogant. She pushes the COVID vaccine where it isn’t wanted and tells you “you will die if you don’t get it”. Being a rheumatologist that deals with psoriatic arthritis she should know which medications react badly with different kinds of psoriasis since they both go hand in hand but instead she just says she’s not a dermatologist. I requested a referral to see another rheumatologist from my PCP and she read it in My Chart and cancelled my appointment and didn’t even notify me. Very immature and unprofessional.

My experiences like others were not good. Doctor is very dismissive. I've suffered terribly the last couple years because of her. One negative titer and she threw me out the door with no help. Turns out it was Lyme Disease which is something you see a Rheumatologist for. I've suffered these two years because of her arrogance and incompetence. Should have her license revoked.

I have never written a negative review so you know its bad when I do. Avoid this practice. There is no quality or empathy in care. You spend most of the time sitting while the PA writes his note. They have no interest in what is going on with your body. They cut you off and talk in circles. Dr Shaw comes in and just reads what the PA wrote. She was very judgemental and condescending. I called her out on her judging and she spent that visit and the next defending that she didn't mean it. It's unfortunate there is limited Rhuematologists in the area and they are capitalizing on that but trust me it's worth the drive to Pittsburgh. I would not recommend this practice.

My first appointment was very short not much communication. I was given a new medication that was a 100 dollar copay. I ask the doctor to write a letter to the insurance co to Lower my tier but she said the don't have time to do that for their patients

I have never been treated so badly at a doctors office in my entire life! I left my cell phone at home, by mistake, and could not find Dr. Shaw’s office. I drove around Duncansville for 20 minutes and finally flagged down a kind lady who let me use her phone to call the office to get directions and to explain what happened. I arrived almost a 1/2 hour late and apologized to the secretary, who is a wonderful lady! I saw the PA first and he basically told me this would be a short visit because I was late. When I tried to talk to him, he said to give him the short version and then he let me know that because I didn’t start a medication when they gave me the new prescription this was a wasted visit. Next Dr. Shaw came in and she never let me ask a question and as she was leaving the office she asked me what happened that I was so late and she said that they don’t take patients who are later then 15 minutes, they make them go home and I was lucky to see her.
This was not an appt they scheduled! I called and scheduled it because my family physician felt that my back pain was related to my RA and wanted me to see her. They both were so rude and made it quite clear that RA did not cause back pain and asked again, who told me that. Honestly, after today, I may not go back and the only doctors that I have any respect for are my family physician and his PA!
Shame on you Jeremy and Dr. Shaw, when your time and money are more important then your patients! How many times have patients waited forever to see their doctor!
I needed a doctor to listen to me and try and help me get some pain relief, and all I got was humiliated and sent home!
