Marsh Creek State Park Boat Launch, Western Side reviews
15Place is great. Park rangers make this place a 2 star location. Tell ya what. The entire time a man was struggling to pull his boat out at a ramp, no park rangers. Me hangin out getting talked at by an 80 year old man, park rangers show up and bother us. Definitely had nothing better to do but do a bad job at their job.
There isn't much on this side of the lake as compared to the other side but we did hiking and kayaking in one day. There are a good amount of short trips right next to the launch.
Great place to get out and enjoy nature. You can kayak, mtn bike, and hike from one parking lot.
Summer months are great but during day tough for parking.
After 6pm is great to launch from here till closing.
Also some nice trails just behind the restroom building and along the lake. Horse and hiking trails.
Good bit of picnic tables and spots to just set chairs and enjoy the lake view!
Amazing park to visit, as soon as you get in the park, you are welcomed with amazing view of water and trees.there are horses grazing around the park.they have there own place to walk and eat grass.sometime if you are lucky you can see one come up to you.
The breathtaking view of park sides and view is amazing.people kayaking or just taking a dip there.very calm and soothing for mind.
Only complain is parking is kinda weird.
I like this side but it's best for locals. If it's your first visit, go to the main entrance as you'll find boat, kayak and paddle board rentals.
Great niche big lake. What time do you want to go to the apartment for rent in the morning I'll be there in about 23 minutes to get there but I will be there in
There are Boats and You can have Picnic there are and you can ride the bikes on Trail and walk around the trail.
Has anyone ever seen the Horse Track ruins just off Chalfont road between Watkins Lane and Curd RD? A park Ranger told me that the ruins in the woods near the west side boat ramp were owned by Boo Boo (Max) Huff a Philadelphia gangster and the horse track was used for illegal horse racing and gambling. There is very little if anything left of the horse track. It is now overgrown with vegetation but you can clearly see the oval shape in the satellite view below. Several years back you could still make out posts and rails within the cover but that is no longer visible.
Would rate it higher but hard to enjoy on the weekends with all the over crowding. Go early if you want a chance to enjoy the wildlife and peace and quiet!
Just be careful of sightseers when launching or recovering your boat. Lots of people like to drive their cars into the unloading circle and into the launch to watch the boats on the lake. They're unaware that they are often in the way.
This side definitely has a beautiful view of the lake but horse farm adds some extra value to it
Water level is still low. Can get boats in and out with some difficulty. Good day on the lake. My son caught a muskie 2 Bass and a perch
Nice trails around the lake with some very pretty views. Some paths go through the woods and are not overly rocky. We passed many old ruins - wish they could be labeled as to their history. Looks like some good fishing spots.
Always a beautiful day here. Electric motor boats, kayaks and sails keep this lake clean. If you want to swim there's a community pool at at the top of the hill. This lake is huge and filled with bass, perch, muskie. Great hiking, biking and bridal paths.
