Matos Towing & Recovery, Reading PA

My husband got charged $390.00 only one day, he was parking in church st when people city had to fix the streets few weeks ago, I am going to send this to the consumer department and and I m going to Civil court that's insane for one they charge this amount

I called for a tow and I got quoted a fair price but they said the driver would give me a call when they were on the way but I never received a call and had to get a different tow company to tow my vehicle

My daughter was in a accident and this is who the police called. She told them where she wanted the car towed to and was ignored. She went to matos the next to retrieve it and they wanted over 800 dollars to relinquish it. This is thievery and the city must be getting a kickback from matos. Do not use them and if they show up refuse them.

Our Silverado had broken down on us. Matos was there within 30 minutes of calling and only charged us $125 to tow it to our home. The driver, Denzel, even went above and beyond to make sure our vehicle was safely secured in our garage. We are very satisfied with the service we received and will recommend Matos to anyone in need of towing services.

Read the other 1 star reviews, they are not lying. Pray that you have full coverage if you're ever in an accident and matos is the police contracted tow, I was forced to use them by Cumru TWP after an accident and was towed about 7 miles to their yard for almost $900. The driver offered to tow it to my house for $275 cash, same distance different direction. Talk about a scam. I was told by the office it was so expensive due to being an accident tow and clean up even though there was nothing to clean up at the scene. Single vehicle and I pulled off the road to the shoulder, no debris or fluids to clean up. If I wasn't in shock from almost being seriously hurt or killed I would have argued with the cop and tow driver over this.

Have not used this business and will not ever use this business. Just witnessed one of their workers open their window coming onto to Lancaster Ave and throw all of his trash out onto the side of the road. Are you kidding me? I will make sure no one uses this service. Trashy people who work there clearly have no concern for anything apparently.

Fantastic 12/10 customer service all around. Everyone we came in contact with was helpful and knowledgeable, very trustworthy.

Driver was ignorant, he backed up and almost hit us standing on the side, damaged my van, denied doing the damage when I have the whole thing on video then charged $550 for almost running us over and damaging the van. They have a contract with PA state police so we had no choice but to let him do the job when I had a truck there for $125 to do the same exact job.

This company. I trusted their company to tow my car to my mechanic when it wouldn’t start because it is a well known name throughout the city, despite all of the bad things I have heard about them. However, upon arrival to my vehicle my mechanic proceeds to tell me that when the driver dropped my car off to them, he cracked and damaged my front bumper. I called Matos to see what kind of compensation I could receive for this and the woman wanted the video coverage of it happening. I sent them the video of my car clearly coming off their truck wrong and after messaging with her she told me to “give up” that she would get back to me in a few minutes. Still waiting for a reply. Disappointed that this company has no integrity despite the reputable name they carry. Now I have to take this incident further than I wanted to.

These guys are quick and responsive! I have to occasionally have vehicles towed for my business and they are always right on top of it! Love them!

Extortion company charged me $550.00 just to pull a car out of a ditch. I had another tow company on-site for $125.00 and the driver was an miserable/unprofessional, had an attitude the entire time, almost ran my wife over/the other tow company driver. Caused damage to the vehicle, have proof of it, he denied it, it was very disappointing/respectful didn't have a care in the world besides what money he was pocketing.never said a price until the end of doing the job.than threatened to impound my car. Irate company, don't do business with them.

The workers were cordial, although they treat your situation like it's not their problem at all, which is fair I guess. Won't let you take anything out of your vehicle until you pay them to release it from impound. I have medications that I needed to take and it felt they were held for ransom. I understand that they're limited in what they can do being contracted with the city and all, but having some morals and ethics would be nice.

Rude, unprofessional, damaged a work van that just needed to be winched out, forced our tow company WE (me and the homeowner) had already called out, and then went on to grandstand with the Police department, and charged 5x what we had already agreed with a competitor who arrived before Matos did. Again, we never called them, they claimed they were dispatched by the police department who also were rude. $540 for a winch (pull out of dirt) not a tow, a winch. 1 star is only because there was no option for zero

Matos Towing and Recovery was great! I was stranded on the side of the road, crashed into a snow bank. The were quick to get to the scene, and the man who helped me was professional, well experienced, and brought peace to a chaotic environment. I was out of the snow in no time. Thank you all so much! Highly recommend

I just want to share about a HORRIBLE experience that my sister had with your receptionist on 2/27/21 around 2pm. The receptionist yelled at her unprovoked about unrelated personal issues. She was very unprofessional, I hope you can fix this if you want to see your business grow.

I was very happy with the service I received over the phone. I was calling from Minneapolis Minnesota after I had my car stolen and sold by my ex boyfriend. The police located my vehicle and had it towed after I had reported it stolen. I thank the woman i spoke to.

Great guys, brought car down so we could see what all we needed out of it. If I need anything else, we will be going back.
