Matossian Eye Associates, Doylestown PA

Matossian has lost me as a patient. Not because of the medical professionals—I found Dr. Desai and Dr. Disanti to be very competent and caring—but because of the incredibly inept and unresponsive billing operation. They made an error five months ago, and I have been trying to rectify it— and subsequent repeated errors! —ever since. Calls are not returned and emails go unanswered. Even my insurance company, acting as my advocate, has reached out but to no avail. No patient should have to contend with this level of frustration. Thank you to Lauren, who has acknowledged the errors and is trying to help.

This office is perfect example of how to treat and respect others. I was impressed with all the new technology and machines to test your eyes. It was a pleasant experience and I want to say thank you.

I feel similar to a previous patient comment. The staff were considerate and professional. The doc wouldn't; win a personality contest but seems to be knowledgeable. However, a procedure was performed on me that was explained and seemed to be necessary.
No one in the office explained to me that this "necessary"
procedure would not be paid by my insurance! I called my insurance company and they reported that the office never tried to report to them for payment.
I am now in the position of having to confront the billing office over an expensive procedure. Needless to say, I am not happy and hesitate to return to Matossian Eye Associates

I visited the Hopewell office - the staff was conscientious about COVID-19 related precautions.
Dr. Shovlin and staff were personable and informative!

This is an excellent eye practice for both regular examinations and medical intervention when required. The practice is large enough to support a wide variety of folks with specialized skills so patients can get what they need, in most cases, without going to outside entities. They are pleasant to work with.

Edit: I had to take a star away.while the care is excellent, the billing department isn't performing well including issues with their submissions to insurance.

The care and expertise is always top quality at Matossian Associates. I have been a patient for over 20 years and highly recommend this practice.

I’ve debated upon whether or not to write a review regarding my recent TERRIBLE experience at this practice.however, after sharing my experience with another person, they, too, acknowledged they had a similar experience. I am compelled to share.

I went for an annual eye exam on November 19. All was going smoothly UNTIL I was brought into a room that was NOT sanitized at all from the previous patient. There was foundation and eyebrow makeup left smudged on the machines that I was soon to use. I was shocked! I told the Nurse/tech that was there with me and she, too, saw my concern. She quickly apologized and said it should have been cleaned. I ended up sanitizing it twice before using however, I can only imagine how someone not as astute as I was, placing their eyes, forehead etc.on unsanitary machinery. Mind you, this is during COVID, where people need to be on their “A” game and Covid compliant.
When I was brought into different room by a another technician than before, after my eyes were dilated and the Dr.was brought in to examine, I asked the tech if the machinery had been sanitized. She rudely said to me “yes, we are sanitizing and I hear what happened, makeup doesn’t come off with sanitizing wipes. ” I remained quiet because it wasn’t worth going back and forth with her. What’s even worse, that she basically admitted that even if they sanitize and makeup is left on the machines, they will still leave it for their next patient? !
Needless to say, I spoke to the office manager who was wonderful and she told me she would speak to the staff. However, I do not feel safe returning to this practice.

My family and I have decided to leave the practice.

Always a pleasant experience! Dr Matossian runs a well-oiled machine - everyone I have interacted with there is a consummate professional.

Everyone was professionally competent and courteous about how they dealt with me. Dr. Desai is brilliant!

This is a professional office with nice and helpful people working there. The tech, doctor and everyone else were super helpful and upfront about options and costs.

This office has become so efficient over the past 5 years. Well oiled machine. Dr. Desai is very smart with a great bedside manner. I don’t get nervous to go and trust her opinions.

Full disclosure they can get backed up so you may have a wait even if you arrive on time.
That said I would not go anywhere else. Staff on all levels are genuinely customer friendly. They are attentive and thorough. They are well staffed and insurance savy. I highly recommend them.

I had a very good experience. I was attended to almost right away, not always the case, I was seen by at least a half dozen people all whom explained what was to happen. They all seemed to know their job. This made me feel good about the laser procedure.

There is an overall positive atmosphere in the practice. I sense that it comes from the top down, as Dr. Matossian is a very pleasant, engaging and positive person. A pleasure.
