6This tour was about so much more than just the jail! Our guide was so very knowledgeable about all the history of McKean County. Plus, there were many antiques and artifacts that were fascinating. It is well worth a visit, for young and old alike.
We had the best time with the sweetest, and most knowledgeable docent. So glad we stopped in.
One of the reasons we wanted to visit the area but it was closed. I hope I can get back some time.
Phyllis took us on a superb 2 1/2 hour tour yesterday. She was a wealth of information and enthusiasm about this unique and eclectic museum. This was the highlight of our stay in delightful Smethport.

I drove all the way from Harrisburg to see this place and was told they were not allowing visitors. The website needs updated to reflect this.
Great place to go visit the staff was great very informative. A lot of good history information.
