McKeesport Regional History and Heritage Center reviews
5Enjoyed the Living Experience tour at the McKeesport Versailles Cemetery for the third season. I find it so poignant to "meet" former citizens of McKeesport and the local area.
What a great little museum. It was great reminiscing of times gone by. The built a structure around the one room school house to preserve it. We had a great time.
Perfect for a history buff interested in the history of McKeesport/surrounding areas.
It is free to enter, but donations are accepted.
If you are looking for microfilm of the Daily News or historical records this is a good place to start.
We went for the annual festival of trees (Christmas) and discovered that the McKeesport Regional History Center was open. The festival of trees was really nice, over 100 trees decorated by local business' and organizations.
If you are interested in regional history, the history center really has a lot of interesting displays with information on a wide variety of subjects.
This made for a very enjoyable evening family outing.
Hope to make it a holiday tradition. Really enjoyed looking at the thematic Christmas trees. Difficult to choose a clear winner with so many choices. Should consider selling handmade ornaments.
