Meadowood Music is a wonderful place to visit, shop and be cared for by professionals who give a darn about how customers are treated and what their needs are. I’ve relied on Paula Taylor and Mike Andrews of Meadowood Music for instrument purchases, accessory purchases, instrument cleaning and exceptionally expert and detailed repair and set-up work. They are sincere craftsfolk who offer the best advice you’ll receive. No hype; just great advice and help.

My classical guitar was in desperate need of a new saddle as the one it shipped from the manufacturer with was not properly fitted to the saddle slot and worse, was not at all compensated, resulting in intonation issues up and down the fretboard. While I'm very capable when it comes to working on my own guitars, I just didn't have the desire or time to try and shape a saddle blank and then work to compensate it to dial in the intonation.

I called around and a local luthier recommended I take the guitar to Meadowwood. I stopped in there on a Thursday afternoon and dropped the guitar off with the understanding that with their current backlog, it was possible they might have the guitar for up to a month. Imagine my surprise when I received a call the following Friday evening informing me that my guitar was ready for pickup.

I stopped in that Saturday afternoon and picked up the guitar and was blown away by the workmanship of Mike's assistant, Margaret. After getting the guitar home and breaking in the strings a bit I was so pleased to hear the guitar play in tune up and down the neck. Margaret had managed to dial this guitar in perfectly!

I've found my new shop/luthier for all of the future repairs I'm unwilling to tackle! Thanks so much to Mike and Margaret for the quick turnaround and impeccable workmanship!

I ordered an Eastman E40D-SB back in June, 2020. Mike Andrews & Paula Taylor worked diligently with the Eastman facility in Pomona, California, making sure I was receiving a good quality purchase. When the guitar arrived at Meadowood Music, Mike told me the guitar was in perfect condition, but there was noticeable damage to the guitar case during transport which he said was unacceptable. Both Mike & Paula immediately informed the sales rep and within a couple of weeks, I had the guitar and a new case in my hands. I finally met both Mike & Paula and took a walk around in their beautiful Meadowood Music store. Great atmosphere and kudos to Mike & Paula for being so kind an knowledgeable. Highly recommend Meadowood Music!

Meadowood Music is a quality music store owned and ran by a husband and wife who are very much passionate and knowledgeable about what they are doing. I have not been to a nicer place. Seriously, skip ordering online or going to guitar world, or some other big named store. This place is top notch! They teach affordable lessons, they sell nothing but quality instruments, their customer service is exceptional, their prices were the best I've seen for the quality you get and they even have the sweetest dog!

Great place to do business. I recently purchase a Godin 5th Avenue guitar from Meadowood, and Mike's attention to detail is first class. Mike changed strings for me twice and adjusted the action several times during a demo session with the instrument. He went out of his way to ask me for feedback while making adjustments and string changes. Even though it was a busy time of year for their store, he was not at any time too busy to check back and make an adjustment or even a string change. I have bought several guitars from other stores over the years, and their store is second to none. Thank you, Mike and Paula, I love the guitar, and the setup is perfect!
Additionally, they have great instructors. I have spent approx three years with Gene Cullison @ Meadowood and will be continuing. Great instructor, take a class; one never knows what they may learn!

I bought my first guitar at Meadowood Music last weekend. Paula and Mike were absolutely wonderful to work with. They are very knowledgeable and made it a very pleasant experience. They showed me every guitar in my price range and explained all the differences. Their primary concern was me going home with the right instrument. Once I made my decision, they made sure I knew how to take the best possible care of my purchase.

There were times during the pandemic when I considered buying a guitar online. I am so happy I resisted that urge. I feel very fortunate to have found Meadowood Music.

I purchased a Martin guitar here many many moons ago and before that, I took guitar lessons with Gene. Everyone is super friendly, super knowledgeable, and they sell excellent products and provide excellent service. I highly recommend them! Thank you Meadowood for your excellent service throughout the years!

Mike and Paula are very friendly and helpful. We purchased a number of instruments from them, all excellent quality. 3 of our children take lessons at Meadowood and absolutely love it. My husband and I recommend Meadowood to anyone looking for a string instrument or music lessons.

My Buddy and I are biking across the country, and and found Meadowood music by the grace of some higher power, as Mike and Paula were angels on earth. Calling an hour before hand, Mike said he’d check out what was causing the fret buzz, and set up his Martin to perfect intonation. Additionally, he allowed us to watch and LEARN about the instruments and WHY the frets were buzzing. I also bought a strap for my seagull and Mike took the time to widen the strap hole, going above and beyond any service we could have expected or hoped for. Being from Brooklyn, NY, we left the store with a sentimental feeling as we felt right at home within seconds of entering. If we were locals, this would be the ONLY music store I would ever need or want to go to. Thank you Meadowood for your genuine authenticity and personal attention. What a wonderful wonderful store!

I’ve been a customer at Meadowood Music for the last 6 years. Mike and Paula’s product knowledge is unmatched by any other music store I’ve visited. When I’ve purchased from them, I own an instrument that is right for the musical style I want to play, the budget I set aside for it, and my aspirations for proficiency with it. To that end, they have an excellent staff of teachers to develop that proficiency and access to open mics at the Half Moon Cafe when you’re ready to share it with an audience.

I've been taking music lessons at Meadowood Music for over 5 years, this is an uplifting and wonderful place. Paula and Mike are talented and experienced musicians (Paula has a beautiful voice, I heard them perform), and have excellent and knowledgeable music instructors. I have personally purchased two Deering banjo's, a Martin Guitar, and my son had recently purchased a ukulele from Meadowood Music. So if you are looking to learn, purchase instruments, or just enjoy need help with your musical instrument, this is a place to visit.

Not only is this a great music store but it is a one of a kind experience. Meadowood is an old Pennsylvania Dutch farmhouse with a custom violin/instrument repair shop in the old summer kitchen. The front room is full of Martin, Seagull, Breedlove, Santa Cruz Acoustic Guitars and AER, Gens Benz, Fishman Amps. The middle room high end and quality beginner Mandolins, Violins, Banjos, Dulcimers. The foyer electric guitars and accessories. The owners, Mike and Paula are very nice and knowledgable musicians themselves.

Students of all ages head upstairs to the lesson rooms where they meet up with one of the dozen or so music teachers.

Favorite music shop by far!

Paula and Mike have a shop full of beautiful instruments and musical love! I am not a musician and when my fiance died suddenly several years ago, I was left with two guitars to sell. His friend referred me to Meadowood Music. What a blessing that was! I was emotionally shaky and intimidated by my lack of knowledge. Paula and Mike were very generous with their time and their expertise. I felt comfortable with them from the start. They appraised the instruments for me and assisted me in selling them. Additionally, I grew to love their beautiful shop, their fine instruments and the sense of community they had developed with their customers/friends. Do yourself a favor and stop in! Amazing folks.

I have been going to Meadowood since it opened. Mike has given me expert advice about working on my own instruments and Paula is always a font of information about guitars, mandolins banjos etc. I bought an open back banjo there and didn’t realize they had a coupon sale going for the case. So Paula still gave me the discount even though I didn’t have the coupon. They let me sit and try instruments for hours. There is not another music shop like this in Pennsylvania and it’s well worth the trip.
Over the years I have sent many people there to get Martins and other quality instruments.
