Menchey Music Service, Inc., York PA

Way back when I was young, when Menchey was out in East York, I never cared for them. These days, it is a totally different experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They provide genuine experience based insight. So far, I have purchased a Jazz Bass, Bass amp, trombone lyre, drum sticks, and now a digital piano. The prices range from good to decent. On a recent purchase, we asked about an item that was mentioned on a flyer, but we did not receive it. They gave us the missing item without any questions. When I asked where in the box it should have been, they disclosed that it was a misprint. They took care of it without question because they felt it was the right thing to do. They are just a little bit of a drive, but they have earned my trust and business going forward.

2 different times I've wasted trips to this store. You would think an employee here would have basic instrument knowledge but that hasn't been the case.

My grandson asked me to help him find a viola for orchestra class as he had outgrown his. He has been playing for about 6 years. I called Menchey Music Services and talked with Sandy the String specalist and we met at the York store for our session. She had about six violas in the correct size to try out. Grandson fell in love with a beautiful used instrument and is now walking around calling it "My Precious" The service Sandy provided was outstanding and I don't think I need to look any farther for all our music needs in the future. I was so pleasantly surprised to know that Mencheys carried guitar strings and changed strings too! The staff was helpful and made a very good suggestion since they were out of my favorite strings. Well, now, I have a new favorite type of strings! #elixirlightpolyweb Thanks Mencheys!

Awesome service, Mr. John showed me how to replace drum heads, and he had in stock the accessories I went there for, definitely recommend it and I will continue to shop there

Great music shop, had an old guitar restringed and was a pleasant experience. Staff was nice, repair was quick and very reasonably priced.

My husband surprised me with a beautiful Yamaha Clavinova today! I am over the moon excited to have it our home—specifically in my “chick cave”! We have my husband’s acoustic piano, but I am so excited to have my own beautiful instrument to cherish!

The selection of music is incredible, and if it isn’t in the store, it can be ordered! My husband wanted a more complex version of a Beethoven Sonata, for me, and it came in so fast—that was the first reason my husband came in, but I am glad he also got me a piano! Drumming selection is lacking, but the staff is friendly and ordered what I needed with 1 day turnaround.
