Merrill Gardens at West Chester

We have had a very positive experience moving my Aunt into Merrill Gardens. After issues with her previous community nearby, we had to move her right away and Alyssa was as responsive as I could have hoped for. We had her moved her in a couple days and she has a much more positive outlook on her future. She keeps commenting on how much nicer everyone is and loves her unit and the facilities. She's doesn't suffer fools well and is very discerning, so for her to be complimentary is quite an accomplishment! Only been a couple weeks so far, but couldn't be happier with Alyssa and the staff so far.

This is a beautiful community with caring staff and friendly residents. Your loved one would be very happy calling Merrill Gardens home!

My siblings and I toured Merrill Gardens with our dad as he had an immediate need for housing. Alyssa met with us within hours of our contacting her and she took the time to review all of the facility’s amenities, give us a complete tour, and answer all of our questions. She and the entire staff have ensured that dad’s transition to Merrill Gardens was smooth and they have been extremely welcoming. Our experience so far has been nothing short of exceptional!

We recently toured Merrill Gardens for a family member who had a quick change in condition. Thankfully, Alyssa was able to schedule us almost immediately. She was a wealth of knowledge and really soothed my family’s fears about transitioning a loved one into Personal Care. Her tour was professional and fun. She kept things light hearted and exciting for my family member (who was very nervous). On top of a very pleasant tour, the other staff seemed friendly. My family member loved that it’s next to an active airstrip, and clean!

My brothers and I had planned on touring several senior homes for our mom. We wanted to find the right place for her and thought that would take time to find. Merrill Gardens at West Chester was the first place we visited. Alyssa took us on a tour. She was very professional as well as very personable. We had a lot of questions and Alyssa took the time to not only answer them, but also provided additional information. We knew, before we left, Merrill is the place for our mom. We moved her in yesterday and everyone was so welcoming and attentive. I know we made the right choice!

I visited Merrill Gardens last week for information and a tour. I was fortunate to meet with Alyssa! She was awesome - professional, personable and knowledgeable! I felt so at home going around with her and discussing possibilities for me. The place was friendly and spotless. There are so many activities as well as places to go and just sit and relax. I'm hoping there's an opening for me when my current lease is up! Thanks Alyssa!

If you care about your loved ones, DO NOT send them here. The facility is beautiful but it is a facade for the lack of compassion and neglect from staff. The administrator is okay with putting an elderly veteran out on the street with an HOUR notice after they forgot to evaluate him before he came back to Arbour Square. Why was he in the hospital? Because he contracted Covid from this facility. They said he now requires two people to help him instead of one and they “do not do that here. ” We had no notice they even needed to do an evaluation and to save their own butts they did it over a Zoom call. One Zoom call can apparently determine whether or not they can discharge a resident with no future plans on where they will live next.

The worst part of his stay in this god forsaken place is that they called us two months into his stay and said he passed away. We were absolutely devasted. We then got a call back saying THEY HAD THE WRONG ROOM NUMBER AND HE WAS FINE. Are you serious? I hope those considering sending their loved one’s here read this and try to imagine the emotions they would feel if this had happened to them. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else and I hope others considering this home run in the other direction after reading this. The emotional toll is not worth it.

DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO ARBOUR SQUARE! My father got Covid while at the facility and they sent him to the hospital, he then went to rehab before his return to Arbour Sq, now Arbour Sq says he can’t come back to where he lived the last year, “find another place” is what we were told. Nice compassion and help from a place that took a lot of money for very mediocre care. The second month my dad was at the facility we got a call that he had passed away, “oops wrong room” was the explanation we got after finding out he was still with us. We are now considering legal recourse against Arbour Square.
