3A great group of volunteers who work to find info and who are knowledgeable about this area. One downside theyd probably agree with, they need some new equipment.
Open only short periods during the week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff.
Made a day trip to Lewistown and stopped in at the Mifflin County Historical Society, after meeting some of the volunteers at a previous harvest festival and looking through the books they had for sale about the area. Their display booth was the best at the festival and they were really in the spirit of things, with volunteers wearing period clothing. Really added to the charm. I'll try to go to the next one if I can.
The volunteers working that day, Betty and Carolyn, were eager to answer questions about the area, and we had a lovely chat about things & places I had long forgotten about. When you dont live in a town anymore, you forget. The volunteers give help with genealogical research if you need help with family from Mifflin County.
