Minister Creek Scenic Overlook reviews
8Absolutely stunning overlook of the Allegheny forest. Highly recommend taking the middle loop shortcut on your way down.
Beautiful spot, beautiful hike.easy in parts, moderate in others overall a comfortable time for anyone.
Beautiful overlook! Really cool rock formations. On a rainy day there were no other hikers. Nice!
Steep climb for the last portion up to the overlook but well worth it. The north loop trail north of the overlook is fairly overgrown in one section but the remainder of the trail is well-marker and easy to follow.
A unique hike through varied landscapes. The North Loop is a challenging single track up the hillsides and into deep woods, thickets and rocky passes. Trail looks like it is heavily used and needs love. Some places were badly muddy and widened. Several downed trees across trail, and trail markers are sparse. Views from the overlook are incredible though, and I was early in the season and spotted many birds, spring wildflowers, and few people. I wouldn't want to hike this in the busy season.best enjoyed alone.
For a family-friendly hike, take the shorter Middle or South loops to the Overlook. Remember to pack out your trash! There are no trash cans and the trail looks better without garbage.
The view is absolutely breathtaking. Definitely recommend a good hiking stick and plenty of water and possibly a good flash light in case you get stuck there at night fall
It is a great hike that cover many different landscapes and conditions. Perfect hiking trail!
Nice hike. We try to do this with the kids every year. Minimal facilities. Steep climb about 1.2 miles from parking lot to overlook.
