Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid Center, York PA

My fiancee recently went to Miracle-Ear after plenty of nudging from me that his hearing loss was a huge concern even though he's only 48yrs old. To say that the help and information received from Miracle-Ear in York was life changing is an understatement for us both. Paula is the most knowledgeable hearing expert I've ever met. She provided my fiancee with the best possible understanding of his hearing loss and the reassurance that he can do something about it. Of course, initially, my fiancee at only 48yrs old didn't want the stigma of being looked at with wearing hearing aids as something that only older individuals use or wear. He couldn't have been more wrong and the hearing aids he has now, you can't even tell he's wearing. No-one even noticed he had them and he was the one tell everyone. Not because they couldn't see them but because he can HEAR now and doesn't miss out on things he didn't even realize he was missing. The change in his life with these hearing aids is astronomical! I would tell anyone with any type of hearing loss NO MATTER YOUR AGE to visit Miracle Ear. The health benefits of addressing hearing loss is something that should never be ignored because the longer you delay the greater the impact it will have on your life! I couldn't be more happy for my fiancee and Miracle Ear (Specifically Paula) and her expertise made it all happen. Please don't take any signs of hearing loss as just something that happens in life because no matter what age your are it's important to take care of it ASAP!

I feel it an honor and privilege to write a commentary for the Miracle Ear facility in York, Pennsylvania. The staff not only restored my faith in my own self-worth but were instrumental in helping me to regain my hearing, which at the time, seemed a hopeless cause. Because of its debilitating progression, I hadn’t taken notice of it until conversations with family and friends became nothing but a garbled wave of muffled, unintelligible sounds. Listening to media broadcasts were out of the question, and well-known songs were now missing notes and words that I once knew by heart.

I started hunting for places that dealt with hearing loss. I was impressed what people were saying about the success they had found at Miracle Ear. With that kind of positive input, I visited the Miracle Ear facility on South Queen Street in York. Looking back, this was the smartest decision I could have ever made. When I arrived, I was met by Sherry Armstrong, the receptionist, who remains a professional in her own right. I noticed her voice was audible and her slower rate of speaking made it easy for me to understand. Sherry is the first person that I encountered in months who I could actually follow. I could tell that she possessed the expertise to communicate with the deaf. Her congeniality and optimistic attitude set me at ease. I knew I had come to the right place. If it hadn’t been for Sherry, I would have walked out the door.

After being introduced to Paula Wildasin, the hearing instrument specialist, l found she was quite concerned about my loss, yet remained congenial and optimistic. She determined after a few tests that I was missing many phonetic sounds. I know there are forty-two speech sounds in the English language. I did not want to inquire the number I was missing. I asked if surgery was a possible option. She admitted that surgery could be an avenue of pursuit, but felt the success rate was not that high. She suggested hearing aids would be the best avenue. The aids would not only improve my hearing but would train my mind to re-learn the sounds and words I had lost. Only after a few weeks, this promise came true. I then became a patient of Bryan Haberstroh, her colleague, who continually works in monitoring my hearing tests, re-conditions the aids when necessary, and adjusts the aids in regard to crystal clarity. During all sessions with these specialists, I must note that their straight forwardness, their diligence, their human concern, and their unwavering search for a solution for my problem mark them as top-notch members of their field.

I often think back on the night my hearing returned. I was driving home from Lancaster in a rain storm. I could actually hear the rain striking the windshield and hear the sound of the wipers. I pulled over and listened for the longest time. That, I must say, was an emotional experience. I had forgotten what rain sounded like. I knew then that I could return to the world that I had missed for so long. Yes, this was a true miracle

The staff here are very nice and professional. They are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. The service is excellent and I highly recommend them even though it is a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for!

I have been going to Miracle Ear in York, PA for 11 years. This is my fourth pair. Miracle Ear is tops!
