Mission Taqueria, Philadelphia PA

The amount of food you get for the price isn’t really worth it. 2 tacos for $17 isn’t reasonable when you can find equally good tacos other places in the city. The vibe is fun but beware that is very loud in the restaurant.

Definitely one of the better happy hours in Center City. Fresh chips and guac, strong margs. Tacos on happy hour are half price ($6 for 2). The chicken and carnitas are fire. I wouldn't usually come here for dinner because it can get pretty expensive for a small amount of food.

And again! When you can repeat a great experience, it means the place is definitely great and worthy. Props to the kitchen crew, who clearly are working their balls off, and to the service crew who are prompt and helpful!

This is my third time coming to Mission Taqueria and I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is delicious and the service leaves nothing to be desired. Ricky gave me great recommendations and took good care of me. I have a gluten intolerance, so being able to go to a place where the menu is entirely gluten-free and I don’t need to worry is a god send. Highly recommend the empanadas and churros!

Lively restaurant with a great vibe! The staff was excellent. It was a packed house and we were initially told that it would be a 15 minute wait but we were somehow seated within 2 minutes. The food was delicious. We had cauliflower tacos, quesabirria quesadillas and churros. Check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

Food is great and super fresh…. This is a Philly hidden gem I love it here and the workers have a great vibe!

Happy hour menu for adults and kids was absolutely amazing. Great service, good and drink quality, super cute place. Wish I had more stars to give.

Fantastic place for after work or dinner with family and friends. The Happy Hour menu is tops! Don't miss the Mahi Mahi tacos on the dinner menu!

Beautiful atmosphere. This was delicious and our server Shaun was delightful! Can't wait to go back.

Vibe was good. Service was slow. We had to hunt down our server a few times. Margaritas were great. We will be back for drinks.

Really great decor. Beautiful and open floor plan that is extremely well lit. Menu is small which isn't a bad thing, but my order was wrong the first time out. When it did come, the steak burrito was very light on steak, but the flavor was really good.

Absolutely amazing tacos and excellent service plus atmosphere. Happy hour is the best bang for the buck! 10/10 recommend!

Tips added to all bills without informing you. After 1h and 30 min, We asked for another drink, was served in a plastic cup and we were asked to leave. We were 2 people, we had 4 main courses and 4 drinks in total. I understand you need to turn the tables but, we were ordering more drinks and we did not even finish our food. Not going back. So many good Mexican restaurants in the area were to spend the money.

Came here because our usual taco place was super full and we saw that they had good reviews. Reviews are very misleading, food was SOOOO bland, no flavor no nothing. We got one order of the carnitas taco, birria quesadilla and esquite. It was truly only okay, however not worth the $60 paid because they automatically add a 20% tip when our service was meh. Definitely will not be coming back.

Went for a quick after-work dinner with a friend. The frozen pineapple mango margarita was SO good, and our server Ann was so sweet and informative. I told her I do NOT do spicy (I'll eat pretty much anything but spicy is where I say a hard no) and she gave so many recommendations on which tacos to avoid and which would probably be enjoyable for me; she also said most of the spice on many of the dishes comes from the salsas and they can easily be put on the side. I ended up going with the fried mahi mahi tacos since she said the jalapeno mayo is not that spicy/just very flavorful, and she was right. It had a bit of a warm kick, but if I can handle it, its not spicy! The tacos were delicious and we had a great time!

Food was ok but portions were kind of small. Fish tacos were pretty good but one was burnt. I wish the plantains were a little sweeter/stickier but maybe it was a stylistic choice. Cauliflower tacos were bad.

I was in town briefly and looking for a taco spot close enough to my hotel walk to. The woman at the front desk suggested Mission Taqueria. It was literally one black over. It is a bustling spot that sits on the 2nd floor between 2 other restaurants. The menu doesn’t have tons of options but what as offered was decent. I would have liked the ability to mix & match my tacos so that I could taste the fish & chicken tacos, but was told that it wasn’t an option. I went with the Fries Mahi Mahi and you only get 2 per order, I threw in some rice & beans as I knew I’d need a little more filler. As I waited for my to-go order, I sat & observed, seems to be a popular spot. It was around $24 for 2 tacos with rice & beans, a smudge pricey for what I’m used to paying back in MD, but I’m out of town so hey. I asked about the sauce that comes on the tacos and asked if I could get extra sauce on the side, I was told it would be an up charge, I declined. The food was okay, no fireworks went off when I ate and it filled a need for my empty stomach.

Pretty decent taqueria. I went at happy hour and the house margarita was $3.00 and I also had the carne asada taco. Both were delicious and I highly recommend. Although it wasn't the cheapest taco for size. You only get two tiny tacos for $14.
