Mister Car Wash, Reading PA

First of all when I went in the wash bay the person there didn't even scrub the tires, the tire shine part nothing no shine on my tires, just no motivation, Always like to give them a second try but yeah not too happy not a happy camper today.

It seems well known locally that you do not visit Mister Car Wash for, well, a car wash. Apparently, as spoken in several reviews and word of mouth when you ask locals, they do a less than acceptable job. I went to Mister Car Wash for an oil change and state inspection. I did also get my exterior washed. Here’s what I want reviewers to know.

This place has a theme-park-for-cars feel to it. The campus is huge. They have drive through wash, a detailing garage, oil change garage, and a pet wash station. There are signs pointing you in all of the directions, and you almost never have to leave the seat of your car.

When I arrived for my oil change, it is a Valvoline service center, and so I drove my car into the bay, rolled down my window, and chatted out the window whenever there was something to discuss. They checked my filters and fluids, checked air pressure, replaced the oil, and all the while called out what steps they were completing. The employees were all friendly and, best of all, efficient.

I let them know I also needed the state inspections, but there was about a 30 minute wait. I wanted to get my car washed, so they sent me off to do that - with a coupon!

The car wash is a drive-through wash, and you have 3 or 4 levels of service to choose from. At the time, the lowest is $9, and I had a $10 coupon from the oil change. I opted for the tire dressing, and paid a whopping $2 extra. I don’t love drive-through washes because it doesn’t get that squashed cicada gut juice off of the bumper, but it’s good in a pinch.

After the wash, I showed back up at the Valvoline garage to wait for the inspection. I did have to leave my car for this service because they test drive it and take the wheels off and such. You’ll be sent inside their waiting area, which is a quaint place to hang out and wander through. Inside they have a little make-believe town of sorts. There is a chapel and a full barbershop display. There is a play area for kids, and the building is pet-friendly (meaning your dog is welcome inside).

I would definitely come back here, although I’m not from the local area. I felt the pricing was reasonable and the work was well done. It’s really too bad the overall rating for this spot is so terrible, because I feel it turns people away from the oil services, which are no less than 4 stars, in my opinion.

Last time I’ll spend money here. First off, sad day in America when you can’t pay cash. On top of that, just wanted a basic wash with tire shine. No can do. Can’t upgrade a basic wash to a tire shine. Got to go with a premium wash tho get tire shine. Absolutely Ridiculous. No cash and the customer doesn’t get what he drove 30 minutes for.

I am new to the state and they were so helpful walking me though the state inspection process. Everyone who I interacted with was extremely professional. The inside area has a cool theme and there were plenty of desk areas with outlets for me to work at while I waited (took less than an hour).

Paid Over $30 car still has bugs on it the carpet was not vacuum had this happen before and nothing was done about will never return

Had I known this business owner was still enforcing the wearing of masks after everywhere else has lifted the mandate, I would not have spent a dime. All of these young kids being forced to wear masks in this heat while basically working outside is absolutely ridiculous

A super experience! My daughter took her car in for an oil change (on the way to somewhere else) and they were super kind and professional. We waited inside the lobby waiting room and it was minimal time til it was done. GREAT customer service! My husband and I have been super happy that we re-joined.

Used to give free popcorn, soda, and coffee. They have since stopped this. They also no longer offer any detailed interior packages.

It's only $25 for basic wash with the only interior package they now have available, but that's what you get, basic.

My interior was bad, so I'm not going to hold that against them. But what I do hold against them is them continuing to remove the very things I came there for. Why would I keep coming if they can no longer properly do the job I need done.

This last visit was probably my last time going. I think being bought out by Mr. Wash was the downfall of this business. Or at least the beginning of it.

Mister Car Wash has many stations on the property including oil change, interior and exterior cleaning, doggy wash and do it yourself vacuum station. There are also clean waiting areas. They offer several price levels of car wash packages which include different options. You can also buy a package of unlimited washes that may be cancelled at any time. The reason I didn't give a 5 star review is because one time our vehicle came out of the wash and the one whole side was still dirty. But we went right back and they ran us through again for free.

Ever since they change to Mister car wash the quality has gone down hill. They don’t prewash to get the bugs off like they used to. I pay for unlimited but I have to wait in line forever. The car wash stops while you’re in there several times and your car does not come clean when that happens. I’m trying to find out how to cancel my service however that is not easy. I even called a corporate line and left a message. They did not call me back.

Enjoyed the car wash, needed the car cleaned pretty nicely. I much enjoyed the carwash. The outside got washed and it smelled like cinnamon INSIDE.pretty decent carwash for 25$.

They have a good deal on monthly washes. About $30 and you can go as many times as you want. The automated one is not touchless but does a great job on my daily.

Awesome staff, inside of the facility is clean, nice and inviting. Staff wears masks during pandemic and is careful to protect customers. Very much appreciated.

Not good, forgot to do my mats.
I had to revacuum out the back of my car myself while they watched.
I have always found the service to be excellent here. Did not seem to have enough help and most were inexperienced.

$29.00 car wash. Vacuuming terrible, will not go back. And now they are asking for tips before the service when you pay.

It gets very busy in this location. I feel like they should upgrade to two bays like the Lancaster location. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had a situation where there was some bird stain in the side of my car that didn't get cleaned. I drove around and spoke to the check in staff and they let me go threw the car wash again. The stain was cleaned. I'm a premium member too. But we have to understand that this location has only one car bay to go threw. With the amount of cars that line up to get washed. You are going have long waiting lines. The only remedy would be to have two bays.
