Mock-Mays Counseling Associates reviews
4 Your experience with your specific counselor will vary. But if you live in the area, I highly reccomend giving this office a shot. Not only has my counselor been fantastic for this year I've been seeing him, the receptionist is very kind, prompt, and attentive.
I've only dealt with those two people but they have been so great that I think getting a chance to do business with these two people fully worth the gamble.
Everyone very cordial for most part but can't recommend as far as professionalism and ethics. Originally went seeking help w coping with death of best friend who took her own life. Was having feelings of anger, guilt and thoughts of hurting myself even suicide at times. Was soon passed from one counselor to another, within the office, to get more specialized care ALL GOOD. Met with second counselor twice and said I needed psychiatric help or outpatient hospitalization.totally agreed and am 100% ready to get help i need. At that point was given phone numbers of places to call, and name of friend my counselor had contacted personally she said. Was told all 3 places that they were not taking new patients, for one to four months for psychiatric help. Reached out to my counselor again, and was told she had discharged me and could not longer assist me but "good luck with my journey". Really? Like this was a parade or party to go thru this.feel like I am in a direre place, given phone numbers to deal with it all myself and figure it out. No problem whatsoever with them suggesting more help beyond what they could provide but why would u let someone go/"discharge" a person before who is having self inflicting/suicidal thoughts before making 100% sure that essential care is totally 100% in place. So here I am in limbo with a head full of not do good thoughts. Super nice people just not professional from beginning to end.hope they take this as constructive criticism and use it to attempt to follow thru WITH the patient until appropriate care is FULLY lined up and confirmed. A disservice was done to me in the end in my.opinion. Maybe a good place for many, hope others are luckier than me. I do very much think they care and can be helpful to many but Thought my experience should be shared. Hopefully this review encourages Mock Mays in making changes in cases like mine.
I love my therapist! I could tell that she cares deeply about her clients the minute I met her! She definitely stregthens me and does anything she can to help me with my struggles!
