Mold Medics, Carnegie PA

Before we purchased our house in June 2022 we had had a home inspector do a mold test so we knew there was some mold. We also had two mold remediation companies come, take samples, and give us estimates for remediating the mold. Of the two, we felt the plan developed by Thad from Mold Medics, though more expensive, was the best to solve our moldy basement problem.

In July 2022 we had Mold Medics do mold remediation and Thad was the project manager. They also cleaned the air ducts and put in a radon remediation system. First they walled off the rest of the house and the furnace with plastic so as not to spread the mold and to create a negative air area. Because of the amount of mold they had to essentially "unfinish" a finished basement by taking out walls, drop ceilings, and all the contents. They then did an electrostatic mold treatment. This work took three days because the basement wall paneling was attached to sheetrock which was glued to the basement's cement block walls. They wrapped and bagged the material they took out so as not to spread the mold, and placed it in a dumpster. They started with two workers but when the job got bigger they added a third.

The workers arrived on time each day and were careful of electrical wiring and plumbing pipes as they took out the walls. One plumbing vent that was broken was quickly fixed. They left the electric wires and pipes in place as it was the homeowners responsibility to finish the basement once it had been demolished.

On the fourth day they wiped down the walls again and installed the radon remediation system which required drilling one hole in the basement floor and running a vent with a fan outside the house up to the top of the roof. On the fifth day they cleaned the heating ducts. Later when we painted the house we did find one duct that had been overlooked.

Overall I give them a 5 star review. They were easy to work with and as problems were found they were able to supply more staff and equipment to help out and get the job done on schedule and on budget. Gutting the basement was a tricky job because of a drop ceiling and a second ceiling above that which they partially removed. They were able to work around the electric wiring and plumbing pipes to get the job done. In a year and a half the mold has not returned which was our main concern.

First off - Thaddeus Westley came to my home and did a walk through and determined that there appeared to be an odor within my kitchen area. We discussed and scheduled air sampling test. I received the results approximately 4 days later. Thaddeus and I discussed the results and arrived at a game plan. We then scheduled the team to come in and do what they do. On 18-19 Dec the team (Justin & Justin) came in and provided a detailed explanation of what they were going to do. They were very professional and kept me in the loop at all times. I was immediately informed of what they discovered and the process that was going to be used to remediate the issue. It was a pleasure to work with Mold Medics from start to finish and I would highly recommend them. I have already provided a resident in the community with their number.

Bryan and Adama did a wonderful job clearing out the mold in my garage, and went above and beyond to even clean up some of the other problems in the garage by cleaning more than I expected. Highly recommend.

Our guy was incredibly professional, diligent, thorough, and considerate! He even walked around the house and did an oral consultation about where we might address water infiltration issues. He worked to go through 11 vents and made 13 holes (that he plugged with rubber) and two cuts (that he patched with tin). Our house smells so incredibly fresh and clean, which makes sense when we compared before and after photos. Thank you so much!

This was my first time doing business with Mold Medics and I will continue to only use them for mold remediation moving forward! I inquired Tuesday night on their website and received a phone call first thing Wednesday morning. Brian came the same day just a couple hours later to inspect the mold. This is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with; from Dan the General Manager, to Brian and Milo in Sales, Heather in the Front Office and especially John the Technician. John was extremely professional, polite and very knowledgable. If there is a grade or level higher than Excellent or Superior then John earned it. He worked non stop, always keeping me posted on his findings and progress. I was so impressed with the service, I had them clean my daughter's house as well. I would strongly recommend this company to any and all who are in the market for an air duct cleaning. I have since recommended them to a neighbor and a friend who asked about my satisfaction level. They were very accommodating and flexible to meet my needs and schedule. The before and after pictures certified the quality of their work.

Justin and Justin came on the 1st day. They were professional and explained the process and expectation. Additional Mold was found and they showed us everything. This project took longer than expected and Adam was added in the next day. The company ensured the job to be completed without disruption, even though it was more than expected.
