Moshannon State Forest reviews
14Place in this great nation that is in a way still untouched by the Footprint of the world in the same way that I recognize other parts that I have yet to see. The Same Balance that is needed for PEOPLE AS CITIZEN IN A COUNTRY to Remember, restructure and re-engineer to make this country the best for all of us citizens, AND NOW BOTH the future of MANKIND to excel for the GOOD OF GOD AND HIS CREATION is the Journey to EXPLORE AND LIVE IN LIFE
Fantastic place for families, backpacking, hiking, camping or just trips into the forest. Fantastic conservation efforts and historic displays really make any trip worth it. Trails are in good condition, roads go to clearly marked spots. Highly recommend.
Beautiful quiet spot for day hiking or overnight camping. Did not notice any foot traffic.
Truly one of the best State parks anywhere! So many things to do and to see! 100s of miles of trails, and activities galore.all year around. Camping, hiking, swimming, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, skiing, game and bird watching, kayaking, boat rentals.the list is endless. Both camping under the stars and rented cabin options are available. Friendly and helpful Rangers and staff. I have been enjoying this park for years, and every time I come, I discover something new.
Beautiful forest, easy public access, and abundance of wildlife. Have seen Deer, bear, beaver, coyote, screech owls, Turkey, good fishing for trout and the normal grey squirrels.
Roads were inadequately maintained to a point and completely unmaintained beyond that point.
Great for fishing, boating, hanging out on the beach and now I have to say CAMPING. First time camping in the park for we have two cabins in the area. My daughter turned 18 and wanted to REALLY camp out so thats what we did. A big shout out to the Fish and Game officer who was kind enough not to kick us to the curb being we showed up one minute before close and set us up for the night. Thanks for the memories!
Very nice. Ride on calidina pike was a beautiful ride over to quhanna highway was terrific
The Allegheny Front Trail is beautiful and challenging. The constantly changing scenery is beautiful.
Black Moshannon is an absolutely beautiful state park. The trails are very well kept, most especially the Allegheny front trail which is a 45 mile loop trail that goes through Moshannon Forest and around, and even in some parts through, the state park
Beautiful Vistas, lots of elk (during certain parts of fall-winter) very well maintained campsites
