I came for a sprained ankle that I tried for a while to rehab on my own but was still having difficulty with. By the time I went in, I had gotten to the point where I was basically functional with some minor pain day-to-day, but ankle was primarily limiting my ability to participate in athletic activities (running, hiking, karate). I had a lot of anxiety going in and was concerned about whether I would be judged for waiting so long to come in, or the opposite, be viewed as too functional to "need" therapy.

Everyone I interacted with from my first contact with the front desk to my evaluation through my course of treatment was fantastic. I saw Hernani for my eval, and then worked primarily with Marcello, as well as Nick and Cassy during my treatment. Everyone was actively interested in helping me meet my goals, based on what was important to my life. We worked through exercises that targeted motions needed for my activities, and as I resumed more of my usually activities, to any pain, weakness, or concerns I was still having. Everyone was great about answering all my questions and providing additional information when I was interested. Overall, the staff also created a fun, supportive environment, and I looked forward to my appointments each week, although I am now happily discharged pain-free and back to running, hiking, and karate

Mountain Valley was a great place to go for my physical therapy. They cared about my progress & each and every visit they asked how I felt, if I had pain & worked on building strength & mobility where needed.

I'm writing this review because my husband Ray can't sit
still long enough to do it himself. He's out with the dog on a long morning walk. When they get back.he'll be outside doing yard work. Six months ago he had a hard time going up or down stairs, getting in or out of a car or getting a good night sleep. Sitting in a plane seat to visit family was out of the question! Ray decided on a knee replacement, which went well. But it was the excellent physical therapy at Mountain Valley that got him back in the ballgame. Each session a new challenge was added. Some days were not as good as others, but the staff was always there to encourage him. They kept him focused to achieved the goals he set on the first day of therapy.and more. THANK YOU MOUNTAIN VALLEY ORTHOPEDICS! Ray's back. He wants to go walk around a community fall fest.

The office staff are personal and professional, easily assisted with my busy schedule to assist in setting appointments. I completed ten sessions with Kevin Dougherty for an ankle injury. The sessions were specifically tailored towards my injury as well as my personal goals to return to daily physical activities. Kevin developed a plan that lead to return of my strength, mobility, and flexibility. I began looking forward to each session as I gained the confidence and ability to push myself further than I thought I could. The silver lining to an unfortunate injury was having the opportunity to train with Kevin and the crew at MVOPT! Highly recommend!

I had an extremely positive experience at MVOP. I had shoulder surgery and transferred from another PT clinic where I was behind schedule on my progress. The MVOP therapists knew how to push me but were also realistic. Not only did I do typical shoulder rehab, but the therapists also implemented sport specific drills to ensure I would feel comfortable when returning to my sport. I was soon back on track with my progress after attending MVOP. I am now back to playing an overhead sport at the collegiate level!

About a month and a half ago I was cleared to begin training and playing soccer again after my ACL tear back in November 2020. I had reconstruction surgery through Mountain Valley and Dr. Cibischino in early January 2021. Now, 7 months later, I feel as ready as ever to take on my senior soccer season.

Throughout my stay, we hammered on multiple aspects in order to get me in the best position to return to action. In the beginning we worked on achieving optimal flexion and extensions measurements. Further on in the process, we introduced rather large amount of squatting exercises to work on leg strength. Personally, the mechanics of my squat were quite poor after coming off the injury and most notably Jim, and I, worked to fix my form to prevent future complications. For the last 2-3 months or so of my recovery, we worked on jumping, acceleration after jumping, and changing direction (cutting). Throughout the entire recovery, I used machines involving leg press, leg extensions and hamstring curls to build back my quads and hamstrings that had lost its strength due to atrophy. Over time we increased we weights steadily and got my leg to as close as we could in the time frame I was there.

As for my review of my therapists individually, Jim, Kevin, and Montell could not have been any better. Each of them were kind and easy-going, and we formed a good connection over the course of my 6-ish month recovery. I worked with Kevin for the early stages of my recovery. The majority of this time was dealing with the flexion and extension exercises. Kevin was always very kind and understanding of the boundaries and struggles that I was facing in the beginning. Specifically, the forced bending of the knee through the pain barrier post-op was some of the worst pain I have experienced. However, looking back on it, it was for the better. That being said, Kevin made sure that he had my permission to keep hitting that point of pain before he continued, constantly asking if it hurt too much for example. All in all, my experience with Kevin was entirely positive. Montell was one of the nicest workers in the building from my experience. We got along really well and often traded witty remarks and both had a fun time. It was also clear the he knew what he was doing through his explanations and answers to my questions. I probably worked with him the least, but not by any stretch of the imagination was he a burden. For the majority of my recovery (from about early March to mid-July) I worked with Jim. Jim and I over time got into a routine to the point where we both knew exactly what needed to be done. We also developed a very tight bond and we would often talk about things not even related to PT. This applies to all of the physical therapists, but Jim especially was a real help in the process. He always had an thorough and insightful answer to any questions posed and he often gave suggestions and advice for when I would work on the exercises given to me to do at home.

At the end of the day, I recommend anyone who is in need of physical therapy or orthopedic surgery to highly consider Mountain Valley. My experience with everyone was positive and I feel great!

And to Jim, Kevin, Montell, and everyone else that helped me along the way, I would like to give a special thanks to.

Great results from my active physical therapy at MV. Both Hernani and Jim targeted my issue and gave specific PT to not only address my pain, but also help with strength for preventative maintenance. I went in thinking my hip pain was something I just had to accept as a part of aging, but after my full PT experience, I can sleep again, I feel more agile, and I have a homework sheet to continue my maintenance. Very impressed.

My experience here was very positive. Kevin and Gabrielle were both very professional, knowledgeable, and personable. I made slow, but steady progress and am now able to continue my therapy at home because of their guidance. I highly recommend them.

I was completely satisfied with the care I received at Mountain Valley Physical Therapy for dislocated shoulder recovery. Lindsay was great, got me back to full function, Lindsay is compassionate, professional and an excellent physical therapist. I was very leery about going to physical therapy at first but after this experience I am a believer. Highly recommended.

I fully enjoyed my experience at MVOPT. I started not being able to stand on my tip toe and in 3 months I was able to hop over obstacles after a tib/fib fracture. The therapists are artists who find your weaknesses and turn them into strengths. If I ever need PT again, I’ll surely be returning here.

I wouldn’t have rather do my 7 months of physical therapy any where else. This was a great place all around, clean, friendly and very caring staff, and great workout procedures. I had Jim and Kevin as my physical therapists. They were both very caring and tried there hardest to get me back to playing basketball ASAP. I would recommend this place to any and everyone who needs therapy!

Just recently finished therapy for the second time at Mountain Valley. The first time a few years ago for a knee injury and just recently for bilateral shoulder inflammation.
I was a little hesitant this time because of Covid-19, but found that the staff took all the precautions to keep distancing (obviously when needed), and disinfected all equipment before and after each use.
After being discharged I will be continuing with exercising at home. I am very grateful to Hernani and Megan for all their kindness and compassion during my therapy. Can't thank them enough!
I must also mention the very courteous office staff.
I guess five stars says it all!
