I just saw a post that showed Mozart management forcing their tenants to pay a 'technology' fee of 80 dollars for wifi even if you don't use the service and have your own wifi. If this doesn't scream slumlord idk what does.

This company makes things soooo difficult.

Parking pass for a car is difficult. The agent that brought us around told us it was $50 a month. Now after, I have signed the lease and moved into the unit if find out it is $85.

They told us there was parking in the building, but we would have to get on a waiting list. After I moved in, I realized there are so few parking spaces that my son may never get a garage space.

They require insurance. I put them on the phone with my agent, which was not good enough.

No blinds on the windows.

The key situation is poor. They give you one key that can't be copied.

If there was a zero star option I would choose it. I lived at the Morrowfield building for a year and could not leave soon enough. I hope you like extra surcharges for everything! On top of your ridiculous rent you’ll be paying to use their laundry machines that ruin your clothes! Want to have them fix a basic amenity? Someone will come get dirt and grime all over your space and use a YouTube tutorial to “fix” the issue that will break again in 2 weeks. Furnished apartments with broken furniture you have to replace. They had 2 ratty twin mattresses, when I brought a bed I asked where I could store the twin box springs, frames, and mattresses. The building manager told me I had to store them in my 1 bedroom apartment with no extra storage space. My ceiling had water damage the day I moved in, something that should probably be solved between tenants. Also, they will let themselves in for “apartment checks” without email or phone call notice. They take no accountability for these issues but will gladly jack-up your rent the legal amount they can between leases. Save yourself the money and find a small landlord somewhere nearby.

Very good apartment. Management team is good. I enjoyed there living 2 years. I recommend it highly to everyone.

I lived at a Mozart owned property for 7+ years (the tall glass tower in highland park), and the management are some of the shrewdest, laziest, and nastiest people you will ever have the displeasure of dealing with. Their properties also have tons of issues. I'm going to keep this brief, but if you are here reading reviews, then it means you are already doing your research. I would urge any reader to steer clear of any Mozart owned properties, you can do much better in Pittsburgh, and Mozart management and their properties will end up causing you tons of headaches. Continue doing your research!

I'm currently in my first lease with mozart and have no complaints. I am very happy with my apartment at the Dakota, the staff has been friendly and helpful. Maintenence showed up in a timely manner when I forgot my keys. They always send a email ahead of time if they are going to be doing any work or maintenence.

It wasn't awful. The employees are generally friendly and responsive to concerns. Maintenance can be intrusive, at least in my experience. My apartment did come pretty dirty but it's not like they were hiding that, it says many times in the lease that they don't professionally clean and your apartment will arrive broom clean, though mine wasn't even that lol. I moved in expecting to clean for a few days. It was fine after that. Looking at the prices of their other buildings, I do think they're generally overpriced, but I found my rent reasonable.

The heat was so noisy cuz the building was too old. So the noise actually came from the infrastructure within the walls so nobody could fix unless the building was to take down. The management service is rapid and considerate, but they could handle the heat noise issue.

And they increased the rent to a level I couldn’t bear alone anymore

I rented an apartment from this company for several years, they were absolutely fabulous. The apartment was clean and well maintained when I moved in, they made several updates to the building and my apartment while I was there. The office staff was always easy to reach, responsive and helpful. Maybe one or two of the maintenance people over the years seemed a little new or inexperienced - but mostly efficient & helpful. All were polite.

Additionally they were proactive with addressing concerns and reminders about any planned maintenance such as water shut offs or routine inspections.

Very organized and professional in my experience, & I’ve had horrible experiences renting in the past from scum lords who never fixed anything (including major safety concerns) and never returned calls.

Went to schedule a tour for a June move in at the Arlington. Leasing agent was immediately rude and acted like she had no idea I wanted a June move in instead of may and said she couldn’t show me any apartments, even though we had had several email correspondences. Made it seem like my fault that she misread the move in as may rather than June. She then went back and found a random apartment she could show me but said it didn’t matter because none of the apartments look the same. We toured a disgusting apartment (a studio when I asked to see one bedrooms) and she focused the whole time about how disgusting their buildings are and floors I should avoid living
on. The floors were dirty and moldy and the appliances were trashed. We asked her if this was an apartment that would be remodeled and she said “maybe, probably not”. She also was extremely unhelpful and even refused to give us a rough pricing estimate, telling us to come back and see the apartments when I need to move in, even though I said numerous times I need to look at apartments before I move to start a job. Overpriced, disgusting buildings with rude unhelpful management- save yourself the time and don’t bother touring or applying.
